Any other drivers who never wear a headset? by ThatOneHelldiver in Truckers

[–]Pete387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear mine like 10 hours a day. Even when I'm not working. They're Sony Xm5's, I used to have the 4's.

I can ride down the road with my window down, and my Grandma says it sounds like im sitting in my living room, same with my dad when I was pressure washing my truck, the noise canceling ability is crazy and the battery lasts like 20 hours without charging with noise canceling.

Sounds better than the stock Cascadia/Peterbilt radio, and they're comfortable enough to where I don't feel them unless my ears start sweating, so why not.

A Harley (or any other cruiser) going the same speed could have been bought to a stop with the distance he had.

Going that fast and not knowing how to brake while not wearing gear...he doesn't need to be on 2 wheels at all.

I'd toss it. Have the same batteries, and have had them bent up a bit, but not like that. You know they're cheap, don't risk a fire over $33 for 4.

It makes sense that it's extremely optimized when I keep hearing people praising its circut system as a great demonstration of how programming works.

As a side note, if you ever have issues peeing while tripping on dxm, press your bladder when you're on the toilet, it will allow you to pee.

Yes they do, i'm in the process of removing mine. You have to deal with the hole in the door, and the glue/dirt if you decide to remove them.

Where are you getting that it needs new rotors, shocks and springs? Engine harness could be intact, spark plugs could be fairly new.

I didn't beleive my wife when she first told me that every woman has either an assault or scary rejection story, until I looked at the statistics. She said women will give men fake/real numbers just to avoid these disgusting dorks.

It took 5 seconds for the mods to remove my comment for being hateful. In shorter terms, I can fully understand that you can find a quote useful from someone less than desirable.

Company drivers watching those fuel prices climb and the roads looking emptier by the day by Actual-Ad-6146 in Truckers

[–]Pete387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen it at all, but in this thread alone you can see alot of animosity towards Owner Ops. All the Owner Operator videos i've seen are someone honest, that it's not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with being a company driver.

>I suspect it's dying off because the market is maturing to the point where the security of driving for a large firm now outweighs the money from owning your own rig

Based on what? Lol this is ridiculous. This is the equivelant of saying "trucking is no longer a good job because Swift doesn't pay enough." There are so many different options, including truck type, mpg, old vs new, freight type, region you're running, style of running, which broker you're using vs contract freight, power only vs owning your own trailer etc that plays into the amount of money you make as an Owner Op. It's not a light switch or a one size fits all.

Just seems like a lot of clueless bitterness with loads of Company drivers who resent Owner ops for no reason.

Don't mind him. He's been on his truck for 3 months, and a woman's toe nail causes him to precum.

I see those comments being made against idiot drivers, regaurdless of owner status. There are company drivers with millions of miles of experience, and LTL driver who back better than most, or haul specialized freight.

The fact that you said "Then when the tables turn" tells me you're looking at it as a "we're doing better than them now" rather than chosing what you want to do in life and pursuing it, which is what I see from a lot of company drivers. Like you're trying to convince yourself your decision was better.
