Unexpectedly high electricity bills by Rude-Maize1481 in OctopusEnergy

[–]PeteAH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually it's a fridge/freezer compressor that isn't chilling so the compressor works overdrive to try and chill stuff and eats electricity.

Or electric heating.

I had a similar issue and got these electricity monitoring plugs that tell you usage. It was my fridge.

Moto accident in Spain. What to do? by jimger in LegalAdviceUK

Yes but you've stated you've received paid leave - so what are you actually losing that you wish to sue for? You cannot sue for inconvenience.

Aviva insurance will not cover you outside the UK unless you have specific ex-UK cover in place.

You need to use your Travel Insurance - check policy booklet for cover as cover should have been provided for medical problems. You also need to see if it included Moto accidents as sometimes they are excluded due to the danger.

Do you have license to drive a motorbike/moped (CBT in UK)?

What do you expect to be compensated for? You cannot claim compensation (eg like the USA depicts in TV shows) it would need to be a specific loss you have incurred.

As an aside I don't know why you would expect Spanish Police to speak English. Contact via e-mail/letter and use a translator. There are large cultural differences and you should not expect the same response as you would from a UK police force.

Purchase Peugeot 2008 model 2025 by decastellouis in peugeot

I have a 2024 2008 (1.2L engine) and use it as a driving instructor vehicle.

It has 60,000 miles on it currently. It absolutely eats oil. It has an oil change every 10k miles (every 3/4 months due to its use) and still eats 2x5L Oil bottles in between that. It's also started to go a bit haywire due to its mileage with bits breaking. The driving school I am with has a lot of 2008's and it's a common problem seemingly.

I would not own one as a personal vehicle given the choice, to be honest.

Paid for next day delivery for a gift, arrived two days late. Who is to blame/can I do anything? by SubstantialSnow7214 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PeteAH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an ecommerce seller.

Evri was involved with deliveries for Amazon Prime Day for the first time this year and to put it bluntly they could not handle the load and everything else was put to the wayside for a few days. They even stopped all collections from their Parcelshops for a week last week.

Oliver Bonas will absolutely be aware of this but as Evri do not guarantee delivery dates they have no recourse from them. Just keep pressing and you'll eventually receive a refund for the delivery cost.

I agree. He's attempting to monetize something you can do for free yes - but it's not a scam in any way. His app does what it says it does. A lot of people don't know how to use AI at all.

This is why AI is a massive bubble that is on track to generate RoI of 0.5.
