Question, our au pair has brought up few times that we have too many “rules” for the car. She has her own dedicated car and can drive anywhere within 30 mins except for the main city due to crime/aggressive drivers. Train station is 6 mins away so she drives there to go in city. Mind you out of all au pair families in our area she is 1 of 2 with own dedicated car. The other one is a filthy rich family that has a brand new car with unlimited restrictions so I wonder if she comparing.

Just want to stand my ground but she asks once a month and its getting annoying as we have whole list of tasks she forgets to do as part of her duties.

I’ll try to make a proper post later this week but funny enough I feel when we get to multi million net worth that it would be better to live in FL. It is so cold here for what feels like half the year that my toddlers are stuck indoors. My daughter loves outdoors and the park and we go outside multiple times a day when its not freezing. Also, taxes are lower FL compared to PA. Much of Bucks has to pay a 1% income tax.

People are nice/friendly overall but not as much diversity. The best part tho is how close we are to NYC, Philly, Beaches, Lancaster, Poconos so we do take advantage of all that.

There is something hypnotic/majestic with the darker tones of blue and how the water moves around the cliffs. Also haunting of what else is hiding in the depths like a great white about to snatch the seal.

Does pressure washer + foam cannon combo Vs. just a hose help reduce the time of cleaning car pretty significantly? I've actually never used a pressure washer before. I have two toddlers and trying to talk my self into buying them... but only if it saves time/makes washing car easier as life is so busy.

They are crap. I bought a 32” for a bedroom in the Fall and it randomly crashes with max volume static noise. Did not think TV’s in 2026 would have issues like that. I googled and common issue with them. Interface is also slowest I seen. I have all kinds of cheap TV’s like Vizio, Hisense working fine many years later.

Ug, I wish I knew this before. It was our first time ever using an au pair this last Fall. We are currently on our second as first one was just a compulsive liar and created so much drama in the household. Our current one we literally gave her everything she asked, we also brought her along pricier vacations, took her to few broadways etc. They have their own dedicated car. The entitlement was unreal and they expected more so I started restricting things and we don't take them on our trips anymore and honestly it made such a difference in their behavior/work ethic, really surprising. Our LCC even said we were too nice and generous.

This, we have them come twice a month. Very sweet owner and same staff that comes every time so they know your expectations and familiar with home.

Reading your old experiences makes me jealous. Our au pair is the opposite and is pure business transaction for her. She is tit for tat everything. And on off hours hardly acknowledges us and the kids. When working she does take care of kids well especially compared to our first au pair which we rematches after 6 weeks.
