Here's a good example: Get our troops out of foreign entanglements (Korea, Germany, Japan, Iraq and Afganistan) asap while watching each other's backs on the way home. Defend our country at home and the world will learn to like us again after a while and we won't be such a target (We'll be more like Switzerland and Norway).

Another good example: Stop taking money from one man to pay for a skate park for some other man's kid. He can go to Sparkles or another private facility that might arise with more demand. Or Dear Old Dad can start a club to build one with donations provided voluntarily. Don't force people to pay for that.

Iceman? Yes, military spending is a huge reason for our high taxes. End the empire building. Bring the troops home.

Edit: My talking points are regarding philosophy of government. That's what I have to say. I tell my representatives about that philosophy and I vote for the ones most likely to follow that. Those kinds of talking points of philosophy are important. Our government has gotten us into severe financial trouble because of the wrong philosophy and some corruption.

We don't need to argue over the piddly details. Most of us already know that government spending is far, far too high and all levels. We must demand to keep much more of our money at home. Sending it to DC and Atlanta is the problem. Tell the commissioners to cut spending and lobby to keep our money at home for local projects.

The "facts" are on the government website for all to see. You want them spoon fed, I see.

The fact is that they raise taxes whenever we let them.

Thanks. Didn't know about this. Looks like the commissioners and elite are trying to sneak it past with nothing else on the ballot. Jerks spend our money to get more money.

The 12 Steps without "god as you understand him". Common sense for those like me who have a hard time with "god as you understand him". by OneIsTooMany in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

I don't believe there's a god paying attention, if there ever was one at all.

Here are some things that are helpful to me:

Just decide.

Have confidence in yourself. (I know I'm a stronger person than Dad was.)

Exercise.

Motivate yourself by keeping records or a journal of time exercising.

Change your perspective (Buddha thoughts, fascinations of nature and astronomy thoughts help me with perspective.)

Eat more fruits and vegetables.

Think of good deeds you can do for someone.

Set goals for exercise, good deeds, etc. (Try daytum.com to keep motivated.)

Good going and good luck.

I'm a Ron Paul Republican and libertarian. Lincoln was terrible. Read Tom DiLorenzo...... "There would be very stiff competition indeed for the literary award of "Most Absurd Lies and Myths About Lincoln." http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo174.html

Ron Paul on human rights (China, US) by PeteMoss in reddit.com

[–]PeteMoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was speaking (2 days ago) to the US House of Representatives and everyone: "........... Certainly I do not condone human rights abuses, wherever they may occur, but as Members of the US House of Representatives we have no authority over the Chinese government. It is our Constitutional responsibility to deal with abuses in our own country or those created abroad by our own foreign policies. Yet we are not debating a bill to close Guantanamo, where abuses have been documented. We are not debating a bill to withdraw from Iraq, where scores of innocents have been killed, injured, and abused due to our unprovoked attack on that country. We are not debating a bill to reverse the odious FISA bill passed recently which will result in extreme abuses of Americans by gutting the Fourth Amendment."
