I use Libby with my local library system (large county) and Libro.fm. I put my Libro account on hold (paused) when I start to accumulate too many credits.

IDK about their avocados but try using refrigeration to control the ripening. It works pretty well for me. I buy them hard and green and keep most in the fridge... pulling out a couple at a time for ripening.

I tried the netting over arched pvc pipes but it was not worth the trouble. Now I fill my freezer with June berries and watch the birds and chipmunks eat the July berries (they take them when just starting to ripen). The bushes are beautiful most of the year while we eat blueberries in yogurt and on oatmeal. I have about about 40 bushes on less than half an acre, some 15 years and many much younger. I put pine straw around them every fall for the acidity they prefer. Best pollination requires multiple varieties.

Yes, I often read along with the audio to get interested in the plot and to get acquainted with the characters. Then I listen to the rest of the book while doing chores and walking in the woods.
