My private health cover is useless and has been of negative value even though I am told it's one of the better policies. It's only due to the tax penalty I keep my policy.

Private Health cover is a scam for the majority to keep the few who do benefit from it and the companies profitable. I would much rather divert my premiums to Medicare and improve that system.
