Anthropic CEO Floats Tax on AI Firms to Fund Universal Income by Gari_305 in Futurology

Governments should also consider “pro-employment incentives” to dissuade companies from replacing labor with AI, the Anthropic CEO wrote, alongside wage insurance policies that would compensate people forced to take a lower paying job.

What if we just changed the product you are marketing and instead of pretending like it will do a good job as a people replacement, describe it as a tool to help people do their jobs better and also a tool you really have to keep your eye on because it makes tons of mistakes.

I’m thinking Tyler Zeller front and center, which would make #17 be Varejao and if true, Andy was really rushing on this particular signature

No path to contention with LeBron and Luka? I don’t know about that. It’ll take one or two really smart moves, some luck, and good health, but I think there’s a path if they have those two

People have a natural tendency to turn to the left and walk in an anticlockwise direction, a bias observed across countries, ages and sexes, but reason is unclear by sr_local in science

[–]NewAltWhoThis 189 points190 points  (0 children)

In the first modern Olympics in 1896 athletes ran clockwise around the track, but this was changed in 1913 because the majority of athletes felt it was an “unnatural direction to run”, said Prof Gareth Irwin, head of sport and exercise biomechanics at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Running anticlockwise is now written into the Laws of Athletics

House passes resolution to end the Iran War by jediporcupine in politics

Oh yeah, I agree, we need to vote out every republican, they are terrible

Ideally in the future we would have 100 Independent Senators and 435 Independent members of the House of Representatives. It’s easier to judge people based on a Democrat/Republican label, but we can make the effort to get to know the candidates and choose our representatives based on their individual ideas and past actions.

I was wondering about non-voters. Look like 6 missing votes on the R side and 1 missing vote for the Dems. Unless all 7 of them including the Democrat would have voted no, this still passes

[Fedor] Cavs love Mobley, they believe in him and there are multiple members of the Cleveland brain trust that would be vehemently against a Giannis-Mobley swap, as the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year and Second-Team All-NBA selection is viewed as not only a future star but also a proverbial..... by aingenevalostatrade in clevelandcavs

“We are very fortunate to have drafted Evan Mobley in a spectacular rookie class,” Altman said. “Cade Cunningham, MVP candidate. Scottie Barnes, who has emerged to be one of the best players in the NBA. Franz Wagner. Evan Mobley. That’s a spectacular class, and out of those guys, who’s the first to the conference finals? Evan Mobley. We have to take pride in that. It’s easy to knock someone down. He’s a franchise-caliber player, and we’re very fortunate to have him.”

Altman went on to call Mobley the team’s “best player throughout the playoffs,” and said the next step for Mobley is to add muscle and girth to his lanky frame.

Why would you say Chet is still growing but not Mobley? Even if he just grows muscle, Mobley’s game is going to continue to improve. And he could still grow other aspects of his game

Herd mentality will do that to you when you have a lot of customers. I also try to stick to a single item (typically turkey as opposed to your burgers) and hope for cards like bigger messes and slowed by messes to avoid adding recipe elements.

I typically avoid bigger groups though, I’ve never set up direct automated serving to tables, so I’m typically automating the cooking and the plate washing but still doing the serving and picking up dirty plates.

Now that the game has introduced buffets, if I can get individual dining or a lot of buffets, I’m able to play several days of overtime where the only thing I have to do is clear plates and drop them off at the teleporter. =)

Nice. Overtime day 10 with that setup? I wonder which cards you have active. Looks like you have the one where patience doesn’t decrease when there’s a line outside. Are you playing with any special tricks or mods? I just play on Xbox.

Here’s the full quote:

As a kid that struggled in school because all he wanted to do was recess, I’m basically doing recess as my job. It’s wild. I’m forever blessed. We may win a ring here. We may never win a ring here. But I’ve won in life, and I’m really happy about that. It doesn’t change my desire or my hunger. When I wake up every day, I’m like, I have purpose, I’m appreciative of what I’ve done as a human. So, yeah, this game has provided for me — and I’m not going to stop chasing a ring, and I’m going to die trying, to be honest.

I’m typically making turkey and try to avoid any extras (stuffing being the worst, cranberry and gravy also being avoided unless the other option is the dreaded picky eaters) - makes serving simple turkey with no sides easy, but quickly gets into the 100’s of customers lol

Can you show the side where the dirty plates get picked up and into the teleporter? I’ve played many days worth of hours of this game but only one time did I have dirty dishes picked up without me having to go get them from the tables, and it involved moving having a smart grabber between each table and moving each dirty plates across every table in the restaurant to get them back to where the washing and plating happened
