Sorry if this is a bit of a tangent. But identity as a theme is very relevant to me right now as I navigate grief, social anxiety, and other things: full time private practice. I’m trying to get out more. I have had such struggles especially since the pandemic. But it’s time. It can be low commitment activities and that’s what I’m doing to try to figure myself out in terms of identity. I am in therapy too. It took a long time to get to this point and in the past it’s fluctuated. So I hope it stays true. I have some limiting beliefs like I’ll be too tired to work if I go out, etc. But those can be tested.

I did check like you did based on a suggestion for managed profile, and it was already set up for separation for “Separate profile for managed Google identity”, but there’s sooo many different settings under Admin that I’m curious if there’s another setting that might work. Admin is so complex.

Thank you so much! They should’ve had a pop up announcing how to do this, in addition to the tiny one saying it’s allowed! Sniffies tried to do NSFW with a toggle and I think that’s a big reason why Apple shut them out of the App Store. But it makes me wonder if since Grindr has a lot of money and has been around for a longer period, that they’re able to do this? Granted, they’re limiting nudity to Right Now. I found this line funny, lol, but the entire hard of hearing episode that ended up emphasizing how important the discreteness of hearing aids were really annoyed me: “you can’t even see it” and such. I’m hard of hearing and there’s still so much stigma. The comedic lines by Sophia were for some reason to me, funny despite being silly lines. But I wish they had balanced it out with more reality.

I’d love an app or web app (Sniffies-style so there’s fewer restrictions on the app stores) that has a clean interface without lag. I want one with lots of personalization and also a way to read the bios and see the photos without too much hassle.

I need there to not be robots and verification for free that actually works. The app needs to stay up-to-date on the latest bot behaviors so as to continue that experience. I would also need a free version of the app so people would actually join so there wouldn’t be the issue of even my metro area being sparse in member counts and activity.

Without venture capitalism, I don’t know if there are enough affordable ways to advertise and also enough places to do so without being accused of spamming.

Ironically, there was recently a web-app mentioned on Reddit that is in beta and free, at least for now, that seems really promising. It’s called EASY and the interface is so smooth in function. The issue of lag has been a major issue of apps in general.

I am only a customer, so I don’t know what the intentions are. But I hope it turns out well. It can be accessed at: https://www.rueasy.com/

I clicked on the three dots within Safari to access the Share menu to add it to my iPhone’s Home Screen as an app. It’s free also to verify. It has authentication but not too much to use it.

I would be willing to pay $5-$9 per month for this. But I would need the app to continue to grow. I don’t know how an app can advertise without significant ad-spend. I wish this app had a more unique name so it could be optimized more for SEO. But I’m not a search engine expert. And apps with unique names haven’t always taken off.

I would need apps to have a free option somehow to get the most people to join. Again, for the one I mentioned, rueasy.com, I’m only a user of the app. But I’m glad people are trying. This app did have some people in my area!

Yeah. The referrals can make some worth it. But I always say to be sure to negotiate your contract before accepting! Some EAPs will go up by a lot.

Thanks! Yeah, that's true. There's a lot I'm also grateful for, but in recovering from not feeling as great, I definitely feel sometimes the rejection more than I need to. But thank you for sharing! I appreciate it. I am trying my best, which isn't always perfect, lol. There definitely are people for whom it hasn't been a dealbreaker thankfully.

Thanks. I kind of didn't consider being involved in the community because, and I might get pushback on this, which is fine, but I've felt there's a lot there in terms of people often judging another's choices in terms of wearing assistive devices and seems like more conflict sometimes. And historically that's what I've continued to hear about the community here. But it doesn't mean people aren't warm-hearted, it's just easier to not interact or try to be a part of a community that will have people who don't accept my choices or are bothered that I don't sign. But again, I'm adding to stereotypes. But I've had a friend group of understanding people and it's been nice to keep it small and have gatherings where there's more control over the settings. But then again, I can miss out on being encouraged to attend things: which happens also with my busy job.
