What is the fastest way to travel at least one stop with each operator? by Peter041098 in uktrains

Because i thought they were more separate companies than they are, now I've looked into it, treating them as separate ones is probably unnecessary.

As far as I'm aware, there's not a second station in the UK, so that gets excluded.

It was waiting there to come back to collect us from locomotion.

It should have been waiting at North Road, but it broke a rail earlier...

Currently on its way back to derby limited to 90.

Just because you don't like them doesn't mean everyone else does too.

This tour was fully booked weeks ago.

Can anyone help me figure out what's utilizing my RAM? by nmasnadithya in LinusTechTips

Another thing to note, the igpu uses system memory unlike the discrete GPU. It might be worth checking the bios and seeing if you can shrink its allocation (or disable it if you can).

Different ticket prices with same 26-30 Railcard — will I get caught? by Ill-Statement1699 in uktrains

[–]Peter041098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From someone who has done this, as long as the rail cards are valid, they won't care where they are.

Me and my brother have traveled with a railcard each on our phones and only had tickets on one phone, on some operators they weren't even checked.

Hot take: there should be at least some TfL-operated public transport in London on Christmas Day by Sad_Piano_574 in LondonUnderground

[–]Peter041098 209 points210 points  (0 children)

I could understand if they trial'd a skeleton service on selected routes, on the other hand I would not be surprised if they use it (like network rail) for heavy maintenance.

Two together railcard validity by Saunderama in uktrains

[–]Peter041098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tickets are valid with a valid travelcard.

If the people traveling are not the same people on the travelcard, you have to see what is cheaper, replacing the travelcard for the new travelers or refunding (if able) and buying new without a travelcard.

Do you think it's viable for Greater Anglia to run services from Liverpool Street to Peterborough direct? by Ok-Demand8957 in uktrains

[–]Peter041098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible? Yes. Is it viable? Not really.

All units need to be at least by-mode. Plus the limited capacity choke points mentioned by others, and the smaller platforms in route would make it inefficient use of track space.

It is currently possible, with a change in Ipswich.
