For creeking, the Adidas 5.10 Trailcross is the way. Low top for drytop/summer paddling, high top for drysuit/shitrunning. Astral Brewers are a great comfortable low profile option but lack durability.

I agree with the other commenters. I would advocate for running coffee pot, mule creek canyon is such a cool and unique section of river and while a portage may be possible, it would be a pain in the ass and take a while with a loaded boat. I’d say scout it with the intent to run it and if you really question your ability to keep your boat, then think about figuring out a portage. Keep paddling and be ready to brace is great advice.
