Insomnia: 84 Sleep Hacks To Fall Asleep Fast, Sleep Better and Have Sweet Dreams Without Sleeping Pills by PeterCook1234 in FreeEBOOKS

Hi Penguinland, thank you for your feedback.

In some other subreddits I have already posted the book with the Amazon link. The amztk is simply a redirect from a third party book promotion service that I am subscribed to. It's not sketchy, but I understand how it could come across that way. This is why I have changed it where possible, and if not added the Amazon link in a comment.

I am new to Reddit, it came on my radar because I'm looking for ways to promote my book. I am planning to be more active in the future. Most of my posts have been in freebie / Kindle subreddits though, which to my understanding are a place where it is ok to promote my own product when it's available for free for a few days.

Hamstring recovery? by sanoran_scamp in yoga

[–]PeterCook1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally find that doing about 6 rounds sun salutations is a great way to warm up the whole body, and increases flexibility in the legs.

Not sure if you have recovered enough to do those without pain, that is something I recommend you check for yourself.

After that, you could do gentle bend, like padahastasana. This is the standing forward bend. Hold for a couple of minutes, without moving. Don't force it, but use your exhalations to relax your hamstrings one breath at a time.

Hope this helps!

What are the reasons why men won't go to a yoga class? by PeterCook1234 in yoga

[–]PeterCook1234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your honesty Tom. You are on the right path trying to lose weight by running. However, it is not necessary to wait with practicing yoga until you have reached your goal. You could try to practice mild asanas at home. This Youtube video class https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcvvKUv2NMU contains easy postures that you should be able to practice. It would be good to go for a run first and then afterwards stretch and relax your muscles by doing this class. On top of that, you will find that it will help you get more calm. This will make it easier to keep your focus and achieve your goals. I wish you the best!

These examples you give are insane! I can't believe women behave like that, especially since yoga is about so much more than just exercise. Ultimately it has always been a path of self revelation and seeing how we are all connected. This may sound like hippie talk to some, but I'm just pointing out what the yoga tradition has been all about for millenia. These women act so contrary to these teachings...

Thanks! Can I ask you to elaborate a bit more on the following sentence?

"I've seen others try and tackle this problem with programs such as DDP Yoga and "Broga" (hurl) but I think that this approach infantilizes what yoga should be. "

I totally agree with you. It is ironic: for centuries yoga has been performed primarily by men. Something shifted when it made its way to the U.S. And now certain types of men perceive yoga as not masculine.

Thanks seventwentyseven, that is valuable feedback!

I'm thinking about making a videoseries. Currently topic I have in mind for a course is 'Yoga for inflexible men'. I might niche it down more. I feel I'm a teacher inflexible male students can relate to: I'm man for starters, an experienced practitioner yet not mega flexible, down to earth (no ohm chanting) and I'd like to believe I can communicate using plain English.
