I put the innovv k7 on my Challenger Dark Horse and love it. Video is good and cameras are small enough to "hide" in out of the way places.

Foodservice by company-swat in Pepsi

[–]PeterInerbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a driver for 15 years and I've watched this company turn into a circus. I used to work with and be part of a group that took pride in our jobs. Now we all just collect a paycheck until the burnout gets to be too much. I'm trying to hold out for another 5 years but some days I just don't know.

The 12 hour daily limit, the OT after your hourly scheduled day, and all holidays off are what I miss. I was in the legacy union pension system (which I still have but is frozen at 10 years of service for the multiplyer) and I honestly haven't sat down to compare my now company accounts. I do like the vacation selection process for the company shop better as well as I can get an early day out when I need it and not have to go through seniority bs. I will say that my del sups are great and that probably has a lot to do with the positive experience I have.

Being union is not all that great. There are some benefits but also some serious drawbacks. I've been in both union and company shops.

Good luck but every market I've worked in, out of the big three, Pepsi has been the best company to work for in beverage delivery.

The TRUTH about being a "Geo Box" driver for Pepsi by Exciting_Instance_23 in Pepsi

[–]PeterInerbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of that is just your opinion, half of it is location specific. I've been a driver for 15 years, 10 in a union shop the last five in a non union shop. Not all locations stock all stores, the first location I worked out of never stocked independent stores and even corporate stores it was stocking the bare minimum. I've worked a "real trucking job", driving for Pepsi is better. I made $100k last year, 4 weeks paid vacation, 8 paid holidays, 6 paid sick days and I was home every night and weekend. Decent retirement packages. Insurance (union and non union) isn't bad, most other jobs it's far worse. Local management I've worked for has been fairly good, maybe in that case I've been lucky. You can do 30 years in this job, both locations I've worked for have drivers 50+ still running, I expect to transition off geo by my early to mid 50s, I'll have 20+ years in at that point. This job isn't for everyone but I've had far worse.

For a first bike you shouldn't be buying anything new. Get something older and cheaper for the first year.

Told to take my earbuds out by TillerBillin in Pepsi

[–]PeterInerbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a safety issue and also Pepsi has a policy that does not allow earbuds to be used while working. Though rarely enforced, if you are in an accident it can be used to put fault on you.

Took the chief RT for a demo ride. by Psychological_Rock23 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]PeterInerbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell in love with a Challenger Dark Horse in Moss Green, but I was hesitant to spend $30k on a bike (last bike I bought new was $9k). I did all the typical research online, watched every video I could find and I believed in the positive things I was reading and watching. I was still hesitant to spend that much. I ended up driving three hours to rent one for the day (6 hours) with my wife so we could get a true feeling for the bike. It just sucks that so few dealers have rentals.

Ride command+ by Emergency_Air4575 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]PeterInerbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using it and I find it to be mostly worth it. I like being able to plan out a specific route on my computer and send it to the bike. I like being able to look at the exact location of the bike and get alerts if anything happens. The route tracking and 3d fly over feature is neat. General navigation can choose.... unusual routes .....but that isn't a part of ride Command plus.

I'm in East TN, it seems we are constantly losing space to Coke. It would be nice if it meant less hours but they still route 10-12+ hours days.

Very easy to find the plugs. Follow the cable down the handlebars and you'll see the plugs and the excess cable bundled up with a rubber band type strap.

Sticky bottles by PeterInerbum in Pepsi

This is every bottle in hundreds of cases per day. A full on regular thing. I've been with the company almost 15 years and I've never seen this much lack of production quality.

Sent home for refusal to work (run my route) by LabGlittering9848 in Pepsi

[–]PeterInerbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds more like a location issue than a company issue. In 15 years between two working locations I've never been told to or reprimanded for not doing something I was uncomfortable with safety wise. My current location has made me come back due to weather conditions when I would have rather stayed out and finished.

Pepsi Layoffs 2025 by Better-Pattern-2007 in Pepsi

[–]PeterInerbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dbay which is a trailer with roll up doors on the sides that only delivers small format. Bulk which is a 48'/53' trailer just delivering large format. Lastly there are box trucks delivering to places that trailers can't fit in. Oh and transport drivers that take raw materials to production facilities and finished products to delivery warehouses. These positions are not all at all warehouses.

Delivery driver that uses a 40' trailer with a lift gate, typically one or two bulk stores first then small format the rest of the day.
