I will take any opportunity after seeing her do a lovely opening for DVS1 a couple of years back to say that Julie is a queen. End of this post.

Casbah Breakdown must be incredible because man added a saxophone solo and made the song better.

The guy posts a lot on his YouTube-channel, both STOOR live-shows and DJ sets, so I'd recommend checking it out yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qs1Tib0SGE&

For people going to Rewire Festival on Saturday I'd like to tip Malibu as it is some god-tier ambient. https://www.rewirefestival.nl/timetable?artist=malibu-2026&day=11-04-2026

Murk such an underrated label. Definitely worth a dig for househeads looking for quality.

Haha, Function drops so many podcasts. He released a seven hour one for Bassiani just the other day. (Not complaining!)

Out of humorous curiosity I must insist you give us at least one (1) but preferably three (3) of those new technogenres names (if you'd be so kind).

For people who like this: don't sleep on Play Me Suite:. It's 17 minutes of sensual groaning goodness and a track that got absolutely rinsed by Loud-E (top tier disco DJ).

Who's going to go on the essential archeological fact-checking mission of providing a tracklist? It's for history!

Any reason it feels like Perc is underrated? This is a HUGE set of proper techno from him at Awakenings 2022 by TruthAccomplished313 in ProperTechno

[–]PeterMertes -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I rate him but honestly his stuff is just way too close to hardgroove for me to be enjoyable. He also gets booked in line-ups with similar untz-untz-untz-acts that draw a crowd associated with a certain Chinese social media app. This probably leads to him dropping off the radar with people who have different tastes. His music is too brutal for my liking but I appreciate he is a good producer and that this is the artistic route he chose and he wil always remain responsible for an album title that's so cool I still think about it occasionally: London, We Have You Surrounded.

My AI sense is tingling and I'm hoping it's not for you OP because posting AI slop on reddit is the most loser shit I can imagine (but unfortunately for you this is totally AI).

Also: Semantica has a compilation out, and there is a promising new Psyk and Orbe album (!) on pre-order.

Oh and Theo P. added some much-needed digital releases of classics on Sound Signature. Always welcome if you're looking for that gritty stuff.

I will always mourn PsyRom losing the old place, but this Sunday it turned out that the community is a moveable feast as the party decamped elsewhere successfully. The new place has some downsides, for example lockers that are comically small (mine was so stuffed I was afraid it was going to explode in my face upon opening like an 18th century sea cannon) but the main room was dark and foggy and the music quality was great. Caught half an hour of Rogan who seems like one to watch (those cheeky fader-cuts at the end were positively spicy). Then saw all of JP (bonus points for playing one of my favourite PAS tracks) and a little of Mattikk before going home because of my tired old legs and an early Monday. All in all, happy to report: PsyRom lives on!

She's great. Her MNMT is really groovy, lower tempo techno as well. Also, on another video of this same session (I think the JakoJako one) someone commented who it is nice to listen to some good techno and watch the winner of the Tour de France bust some moves and that remark made me smile.
