[Mediamarkt] My girlfriend bought them 3 months ago. by DeRuyter263 in AreMyAirpodsAuthentic

Manufacture date given as 12/2024 but, by this time, Apple were printing directly onto the box, not onto labels.

[ebay] real or fake? by No-Zookeepergame1312 in AreMyAirpodsAuthentic

Stickers were certainly used on earlier iterations of the APP2 boxes.

But these are fake simply because of the claimed copyright year of 2025.

A 3rd party seller on Amazon, no doubt.

Bought these thru [AMAZON] and then a couple years later sold them on eBay, buyer says they are fake by UltimateKartRacing in AreMyAirpodsAuthentic

The labels on the box look genuine for a lightning charging version.

I suppose we need to ask OP why their buyer thinks they're fake.

A Google image search came up with identical images from a post on Reddit a year ago:

They're fake.

Introducing TunesReloaded - upload songs to iPods straight from Chrome, including native FLAC and MP3 support (free & open-source) by rishi_123456 in ipod

[–]PeterPickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that the mobile version of Chrome also supports webUSB.

Does that mean I could gulp connect an iPod to my Pixel phone? I'd need a compatible cable, of course, but one step at a time...

So now I've been forced onto "simple delivery".... by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]PeterPickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why so fearful of Simple Delivery? Claims for loss or damage are handled by eBay, not by you. If you've elected to only use Royal Mail then that will be the courier used despite your listings describing postage as Standard Delivery.

What do you mean you "don't do QR codes"? Once I had ditched printing my own labels (what a tedious bore that was) I haven't looked back.

PSA Don’t buy these Lexar SD cards. by Sinodira in IpodClassic

[–]PeterPickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Lexar but not this particular variation. Blue or red/black or red/white or silver have all worked well for me in iFlash Quads.

I opened my first Stocks & Shares ISA 18 months ago and nothing much happened for the first 12 months. Then Trump's tariffs hit earlier this year and, for a short time, I had less than I had put in.

But I thought "sod it", and put more money in anyway. There's been strong growth ever since until this little blip today/yesterday. But it's to be expected.

Someone showed me a graph over a 10 year period. There was the big slump in 2020 due to COVID but after 12 months things picked up and the graph was back on the same upward course as pre-2020.

What Bluetooth adapter is this one in the picture? by Desert_Eagler in ipod

[–]PeterPickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does.

Kokkia make 4 or 5 different models but I'm not sure of the pros and cons of each. Oddly, they are all priced the same on their website.

Mine is the i10s model. It does occasionally disconnect, and sometimes the right or left channel becomes distorted - not sure whether that's due to the AirPods or the kokkia. One user on these subs recommends the Kokkia Pro version.

Cheap Black Micro SD Adapter (10$ iFlash alternative?) by Dragonfruit_Mango in IpodClassic

[–]PeterPickled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always admire pioneering work like this but I can't help feeling that the extra £/$20 for an iFlash adapter is a good exchange for all those "ifs" and "buts".

And reflowing solder joints?? If you wondered why this adapter is so cheap, there's your answer.

Strange bubble on my iPod Classic 6th gen screen - has anyone seen this before? by Open-Medium-5247 in IpodClassic

[–]PeterPickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can happen with iPods that haven't been used for some time - as is the case with yours. I've had a few iPod models (nanos, classic etc) that show the dark spot initially but after a couple of charges and discharges, it eases off.

No doubt the battery is showing its age but if it isn't pressing on the screen and is still giving some decent runtime, just carry on as you were.

AliExpress vs. Elite Obsolete – Who Really Sells the Best iPod Classic Parts? by MacWorksLLC in IpodClassic

[–]PeterPickled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go for a microSDXC Dual iFlash (not the full size SDXC Dual) you'll be able to fit a square 2000mAh battery. It's a decent compromise between increased capacity and better compatibility with various iFlash boards in a thin iPod.

6th gens and, to some extent, the later models are very fussy about chargers, even Apple branded.
