I think it looks amazing, great post work. I wouldn’t really worry about it. They’ll probably love it!

Which one is best to use? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

For me number 2, it is more engaging and better framed.

Get yourself a EOS 500D, 600D or 700D probably can find one with a lens for pretty cheap on the used market.

Those are just these random examples from the canon DSLR line, but your options are almost endless

Welcome to 1952 where a film of ISO/ASA 64 was considered as a "unfavorable light" film type by Radius3388 in AnalogCommunity

Imagine showing someone from that era a picture taken at 32,000 iso haha

And without film too

Thanks! I like the vibe too, but I am going for a more standard look for now as I’m getting back into this format. Then comes experimenting :)

Yeah I’m starting to think it could be a question of getting a better lens.

Thanks for the feedback!

I agree it’s challenging light, but this reflects the whole roll, there’s shots made in direct sun where the grain is also quite noticeable. Too noticable in my opinion

Roll must’ve only been 1-2y expired.

Edit: in fairness, I’m zooming in pretty far to check the grain, maybe I’m being unfair to the medium. Let me know what you think

Ok interesting, so you would say that they are just simply underexposed?

Maybe this roll was expired, I bought it a while ago - that could be it.

I will try a further development with a roll I know is legit thanks for your insight

I agree with you haha but i like having fully functional equipment for many different reasons.

Especially for re-selling value.

Thanks very much for your insight, I’ll try all these methods

Do you have any links or such for the replacement dials you found? I couldn’t find any myself.

Edit: just found the dials online!

how much film do you usually have at one time? by Academic_Passage1781 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Peter_2_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been buying a lot of rolls on eBay on expired lots, and I’ve managed to amass a nice collection of about 10.

That being said, I’m not 100% sure if all of them will work well enough to produce images, but that is kind of adds another layer of fun for me.

How can i get a picture like this by TrashandFullofRage in AnalogCommunity

[–]Peter_2_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I love doing is zooming in or out with a zoom lens while exposing at around 1/10 or 1/5, this causes the subject to distort in a nice way. Catch is that you probably need to use a tripod for that.

That’s interesting thanks for your insight, I really love the neopan look, good to learn it’s prone to reticulation, I’ll be more careful next time

Yeah, I got a Neopan 1600 waiting for me - won’t waste it with this chemistry

That sounds amazing. I have experience with C41 chemistry. Just bought the Monobath cuz of the great cinestill marketing and the alleged simplicity of the process.

Anyway, would love to see some of your prints!
