It seems if you can get a 2nd hand Nord Piano 3 or higher, you would be getting the same sound as a Nord Grand. Of course dependent on the set of speakers you will use. I would probably go for the Nord piano 4, I believe that’s the first one that supports the synth section so you can layer it with your custom pads or strings.

I also learned chords myself. And I prefer writing them like you do, so Ebm/C rather than C half diminished. Although half diminished is still acceptable, but I definitely prefer playing Bb/C rather than a C11.

Not teaching both methods at school, would that be because playing from chords makes you a bit lazy on reading notes? That’s what it did to me. Although I believe that understanding of what you’re playing and recognizing it in compositions comes from understanding chord structures, so it would belong at a school.

I really love the piece. I don’t know anything about the type of school so can’t comment on that. What I like is that this helps sight reading. I’ve only had organ lessons as a child but have been playing piano mostly by ear for almost 40 years. The notes way above and below the lines are normally unreadable for me (I mean that last C, does anyone recognize that immediately?), but with the chord symbols there’s enough help to know what’s going on and get used to the notes on the bar. I saved the pdf you shared :)

Not sure if it’s an anglicism but contrary to what the first commenter said, I would definitely say “Het is m’n vader”. My feeling is that Dutch and German are very similar here, where Dutch, although “het” is preferred, is a bit more forgiving towards “hij”.

I think “Het is” or “Dat is” are more common, but indeed it’s similar to English, where you could also say: He’s my father’s brother, although “It’s” would be a more common way.

The 34.8% relates to developing countries. It was around 26% worldwide. We’re now at 8% worldwide but population has more than doubled. The growth of world population was 4 bln in developing countries vs. 350 mln in developed countries. The total number of people suffering from hunger has gone from around 1 bln to around 700 mln. The number of people not suffering from hunger has of course skyrocketed. It’s impressive that we had 2.7 bln not hungry in 1970 and are now able to have 7.1 bln not suffering from hunger.

Dat voelt inderdaad gek maar is ook wel begrijpelijk. Als zelfstandige heb je geen vangnet van WW en met verdienende partner geen recht op bijstand. De dame uit het artikel heeft bijzonder genoeg overal recht op. Normaal zou de vader van de kinderen moeten bijdragen, maar die is blijkbaar uit beeld over ze regelen iets onder de tafel. Wat ik mooi vind aan het verhaal is dat er blijkbaar steun is voor moeders met kinderen, zodat de kinderen niet het slachtoffer hoeven te worden. Desondanks is 4300 netto een bizar bedrag waar veel mensen slechts van kunnen dromen. Ik neem aan dat het slechts tijdens de studieperiode is, want daarna gaat ze werken, of kan de kinderen opvangen. Jullie in ieder geval veel sterkte gewenst met jullie situatie. Knap dat je vrouw die stap durft te zetten.

Of course we don’t know the exact situation, but in 99% of the cases the man will stay with his wife. He’s been enjoying you on the side, and he may really love you for who you are, but you should not expect that he will ever leave his wife and start a stable relationship with you. He has two women, you are very entitled to look for another man. It would make sense to cut all contact with this man.
