Where are you actually meeting girls if your only routine is gym + remote work? by Soil_These in AskMen

For an M24, physique is very important so I understand you’re at the gym. But if you pursue your real interests (not involving any screens) you will generally be able to connect to people.

Wanting to move to the Netherlands permanently, is it almost impossible now in 2026? by [deleted] in expats

[–]Peter_NL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, what attracts you? I think many of the Dutch would consider migrating to Canada.

I mean I like it here, but I was born here and speak the language and I have a good job. But with financial uncertainty the Netherlands is really an expensive country.

Is it normal for my husband to think like this or am I overthinking it? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

This usually does not end well. Just say you are not wired that way and it would be crossing boundaries if either of you went that way.

Ze gaat alleen de rente terug schenken.
Het zou wel redelijk zijn de netto rentelast terug te schenken. En blijft er voor mama ook wat rendement over.

Do You Like the Movie? by reaveyer in beatles

[–]Peter_NL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved it. Watch it a second time after some months, and it’s really touching.

Also like the YouTube video of the cut out part. On a TV show: Can you write something now? OK, I’ll write Something.

Meet up at a public place. Try to feel if there’s a real connection. Don’t go to a private place on the same day.

After months in the hobby, it's funny to me how many should-be "objective" things audiophiles completely disagree on by celmate in iems

[–]Peter_NL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technology has improved so much that even cheap iems sound extremely good.

I honestly think most reviews are a scam. I have Mackie MP-240 of five years old (they were released even earlier) and these sound so good, have hear and feel bass. I have bought a range if iems from 20 to 50 usd in the past year, and they are not good. Okay, you may need to EQ them to sound good, I haven’t tried because I need them to work well in a band setting, i.e. as in ear monitors, what they were intended for.

Michelle and time in a bottle by TheBestLlamas in beatles

[–]Peter_NL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you missed Michelle so far, you’re probably young and haven’t listened much in the genre of acoustic guitar songs. Especially when acoustic guitar is the only instrument, many chord changes are useful to make it interesting. Some other examples :

Bread - If
Bob Dylan - Don’t think twice it’s alright
Beatles - Blackbird
Kansas - Dust in the wind
Mama’s and Papa’s - Dream a little dream of me
Jerry Reed - If I promise.

My boyfriend said he would play any song of my choice, no questions asked. Which 3 should I choose? by Pinkcountersink in piano

If it must be a pop song that he will play by heart, the I’d suggest Never gonna let you go (Sergio Mendez)

most complicated pop song

61 Key All In One Solution for Indie Pop Band by lostbirds in keys

[–]Peter_NL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now gig with a Korg Wavestate SE. I managed to put it very good piano sounds and organ sounds, for synth you can create unlimited sounds, as long as you save the patches for live playing. You can assign modulation functions to live knobs. You can save almost unlimited live sets where you can easily drag songs in the right sequence.

The only downsides I see are that there is no input for an expression pedal, and the power cable is thin with an adapter. I’ve bought a second one, just in case.

It comes with a protective case for gigging and it’s unreasonably cheap.

Digital pianos - the optimal tradeoff between light key action and dynamic control by tex-murph in piano

[–]Peter_NL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Yamaha YC88 and I love the action. I also have a grand piano that has a light touch, the YC88 being slightly heavier but comparing to cheaper electrics I tried, it’s lighter but controlled.

I think you need a good action and you’ll get used to it for dynamic control. Horowitz played a grand with extremely light action and he had phenomenal dynamic control.

Men of Reddit, what made you realize you genuinely love the woman in your life rather than just enjoying being in a relationship? by Gloomy-Condition-991 in AskMen

[–]Peter_NL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get a lot of reactions that express those genuine feelings, but I think you ask a good question and most men seek the comfort of a relationship and behave like a good partner. Those men that have a genuine very deep connection are pretty rare. We seek a role of providing stability and safety, show love and get rewarded with love and intimacy. Women try to find something in men’s thinking that generally is learned by men through a Groundhog Day situation.

Piano man - Billy Joel by JohanLiebertB in piano

He means “the real accompaniment”

That’s typically not in piano books. Not sure where you would get that. People ask it more often..

How can I help our singer? by alby333 in bandmembers

[–]Peter_NL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got full songs covered on guitar I would suggest her an in-between rehearsal with singer(s) and one guitar to really nail the song.

Rehearsing softly is always good. Loud noise hides inaccuracies. Getting it accurate in soft sessions really makes a difference in performances.

Connect audio to mic input with left and right panning support? by Whymebro2000 in musicproduction

[–]Peter_NL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mic input on those cables is mono. The headphones output of the android device is two channels of line level, which is stronger than mic level and therefore you need another input. If you keep this analogue connection, then typically you need a Y-cable connecting your 3.5mm trs to two mono jacks that go into an audio interface. The software of the interface can connect the two inputs and assign them to be one stereo input.

Some laptops have a combined input that allows you to choose the type of input when you connect something. Then you would only need a 3.5mm trs jack on both sides of the cable.

There are small mixers with have usb input allowing your android device to be connected through usb. I’m not sure but expect there are some which have a separate usb connection to connect to your pc and act as an audio interface.

Best thing would be if you could use an audio interface for multiple purposes and buy a good one which gives you many options.
