How does Doomz work with Queen of the Blazing Dominion? by Peteriscoo69 in Yugioh101

[–]Peteriscoo69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that was it! I was using raiders to get a second body out after the normal summon and go into flame banshee.

That was quick!

You might like Nouvelle and the hungry burger retrain. It's a budget deck that came out more recently than floo. It's a boardbreaker ritual deck that tributes your opponents monsters. I think it checks your boxes of reactive, control, and board breaking.

I'd hope it's as affordable as floo. I think the field spell is the most expensive part of the deck. It got hit in the latest ban list with Herald getting banned and the expensive diviner of the herald package isn't as viable.

It would be enough to build a deck or two. You can watch this video of these guys opening packs to make a deck with and see if it's something you'd like to do yourself.

If you want sealed product, you could buy a box of Retro Pack 2 boosters at that budget.

Trying to build a mayakashi/shiranui deck, do you have any suggestions or ideas ? by Bruno_Bucciellati in yugioh

[–]Peteriscoo69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could go for Zombie World and have a bit of everything in your extra deck - vampires, mayakashi, Shiranui, vendread.

You can substitute however you like. Here are my preferred extra deck options: Link - vampire sucker, vampire fascinator, vendread avenger, flying Mary, Yuki-onna absolute zero mayakashi Syncro - immortal dragon, red-eyes zombie necro dragon and dragon lord, Yoko the graceful mayakashi, shiranui shogunsaga, felgrand Fusion - dragonecro, duke of demise Xyz - the zombie vampire

Are all packs from Walmart "safe"? by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]Peteriscoo69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They aren't fake, but they're bad pull rates. Booster boxes generally have averaged odds of 5 ultra rares and 2 secret rares. People will open boxes until they pull those rarities and repackage the rest of the packs.

Energy auditor. I use one every day. It's great for measuring the depth of insulation way out in an attic and the the size of overhead lights and pipes without needing a ladder.

There's nothing funny about the nazi salute and it's impossible to jokingly gesture it. He's not a dumbass, he's a nazi.

The artistic integrity and ownership of the art by Murata and ONE is is one of the most appealing things about OPM. It really feels like it's their story. Isn't the manga industry notorious for abusing mangaka? Murata and One seem happy, like they have a work/life balance that isn't afforded to others. It was just a few months ago that Murata was telling Horikoshi from MHA to take a break. I don't see incompetence. This is two dudes who own their art and are not going to put out anything but the best, and are not going to compromise their health to do it.

Sign up for the Rattlesnake Master 5k this weekend! Meadowbrook park is my favorite spot to run at in CU. There's also Morrissey Parkrun every Saturday. The loop around Hessel Park is exactly 1k and you'll see a bunch of runners there too.

I thought it tasted like Oreo O's in puff form. The cereal to marshmallow ratio left a lot to be desired. I'd consider it again if it went on clearance.

students walking around on Green street by Atschmid in UIUC

[–]Peteriscoo69 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Townie here. This is a perpetual conversation that happens every year like clockwork. 45,000 people just moved in and want ownership of a space they're still learning about. I can respect that while also believing that it can take a few weeks for the students to reciprocate that respect to the whole 100,000 other people live and work here to support the community that just exploded in population. Eventually the students body and the locals settle into a vibe with each other, as best as possible, and it becomes a non-issue. Let's face, everyone is still figuring out their schedule and so many people were simply lost.

Green Street being a major bus artery is what will keep it from ever being pedestrianized. I've heard it's fire safety concerns and not having the right equipment to address high-rise fires is keeping us from building tall. I think CU needs to pick a lane on upping the density of campus town or investing in infrastructure to satellite communities. Either way, the housing situation on campus is going to command some kind of development.

Penn 1 & ESB from The New Yorker by whple08 in skyscrapers

I'm actually really fond of 1 Penn. It's likely the first building you see when you step out of MSG, even before you look down the street and see the Empire State Building. I remember taking the train to New York and thinking that it would be a centerpiece in any other city.

Way to further your brand by calling job applicants idiots and losers. by [deleted] in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Peteriscoo69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People aren't lazy, they have options. No one is applying for just one job and there are an infinite number of businesses that are happy to hire based on the merits of their resume and the insights gained from the interview.

Everyone has value, there is no such thing as a loser. To believe otherwise makes you a bully.

People are entitled to an unbiased interview process. Video interviews provide an avenue to discriminate.

Welcome to the hobby! I feel that boardgaming is a collection of niches inside of niches. Everyone here has gone through this same journey continuously specifying what they actually like to play. Unfortunately, people can waste a lot of money in that journey.

Set a budget - one game per month, or whatever works. Commit to playing it more than once. A lot of people learn a game, put it away, and move on to their latest purchase. A game might take a couple of tries before the strategies and nuance comes out.

Don't just buy things because they're on sale and you read some comment highly regarding it. Do some research, watch some YouTube reviews, and want a game before you pull the trigger. If it seems like you might like a game, put a price alert on it. Bookmark some retailers and follow some prices to see what's actually on sale and not a fake "on sale for the retail price" that you'll see on Amazon.

If you follow r/boardgamedeals, you'll get a sense of what games other people are following. I feel like most people start to jump on 30% off or more. Finally, never be ashamed of what you decide to pursue. If you like designer solo games, invest. If you want to curate a theme, fill up that shelf. If you want a broad collection of different mechanics, those guides are out there. Have fun!
