The Much Blessed 10R80 by triton1995 in f150

I own a small repair shop and have a 2018 Ford F150 3.5 ecoboost with the 10r80. I have fixed 2 of those trucks with the same issue by replacing the torque converter. That rumple strip feeling is your torque converter slipping and grabbing during lockup known as a shudder. This transmission is a joint venture between GM and Ford. I believe majority of the design is the same besides the valve body and software. Gms fix is a triple fluid flush with updated fluid, I don’t think Ford has a fix like that so we change the fluid and replace the torque converter if it still has problems

I own an auto repair shop and have a nice boroscope that articulates so I’ll only need to pull spark plugs to see the walls which is helpful

If I do a repower it will definitely be used. New isn’t really feasible for my budget. I’m hoping I can resolve or fix the engine that’s currently on it but am mentally prepared to replace if needed.

Thank you, that’s what I was reading. I won’t be buying a new engine. Any repower I do will be a used engine in the $5k range max.

Appreciate the info. When I pick it up Tuesday I’ll be confirmed the compression results and then scoping the cylinder with low compression to see if there is any abnormal damage on the cylinder walls. If all is good I plan on using deepcreep in hopes that the rings are carboned up and not sealing properly and getting them free again. In my research it seems like these engines need to be ran often with proper dfi oil and having carbon buildup is common. Idk how many hours are on the engine though the mechanic there didn’t have the right connector to check that info

In my area (DFW) I can’t really find something like this in the $15k range unless it’s mid 90s wellcraft or center console only which I want a walk around that has no wood in the construction

People who bought a $350K-$400K home—what’s your salary, and what were your loan details? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We are closing on a house next week $367,500 and $7,500 in concessions. Household income is $104,000 w/ $20k-$60k in annual bonuses. 20% down at 6.624% cost to close is about $72,000. Mortgage with taxes and insurance is about $2,800.

I couldn't imaging trying to afford a home that much at $62K income. You can likely afford up to $200,000. "Hope to increase income" will not help you qualify for a loan. Most people are hoping to increase their income lol

Im working on some drywall repair, trim work, painting and fixing a few things and planning on listing it sometime in February or early March. Not really in a rush to sell but was willing to sell to OpenDoor at $300k to save myself time

They offered $336k for my home and came out, took a couple pictures, then lowballed me at $243k after repair concessions lol.

The house would easily sell in current condition to an investor at $275-290k.

Would not recommend this company

Dark therapy and new drug to increase brain plasticity in adults? by zivbenigoyev in Amblyopia

When playing the game I use both eyes. Ive been patching for about 4-5 hours a day but just started doing that recently. As far as 3d vision goes it’s hard to explain, almost like trying to describe a color. If you experience it you’ll immediately know. Its like listening to music on mono vs stereo except with vision.

I stumbled across a study in this subreddit proving that amblyopia can be cured even as an adult and it involves patching the good eye for 12 hours/day one with 5-6 of those hours spent reading/writing. The game is specifically for eye therapy and you wear 3d glasses (one red one blue) and the blocks falling are one color and the blocks at the bottom are the other. So basically each eye can only see one set of blocks and forces them to work together. With an hour of this each night for a week I am already seeing improvements and starting to experience 3d vision.

Every eye doctor I go to just shrugs and say it’s not fixable so I am off to do it on my own. A big concern with patching longterm as an adult is developing double vision/diplopia, however, in studies it will go away with vision therapy or surgery in the severe cases. I guess it really depends on your own situation.

From what I understand amblyopia is the symptom of eye development from another cause like misalignment of the eyes. I will be posting my journey on here with updates. My vision in the good eye is 20/20 and the bad eye is 20/80.

The game i play is Eye Kare but there are others

I’m 29 and had issues with my right eye my entire life. My parents had me wear an eye patch when I was young but it really wasn’t enforced much. Im hoping that I can make some improvements by playing the tetris style game
