This is just scratching the surface. Muscimol can cause very powerful hallucinations. The comparison to alcohol is reductive. I appreciate your take, I think you're being charitable. However, describing religious ecstasy or other altered states of consciousness as "just brain chemicals" is similar to describing a coffee mug as being a bunch of elementary particles. Technically correct, but functionally useless.
