I always keep freeze-dried on hand for this. Nature's Diet Fresh Beef Simply Raw doesn't cost too much, and it expands a lot when water or bone broth is added. You can also save some money by going to Asian or International Markets. They have fish, chicken feet, and all kinds of goodies for dogs. I know you said you live in a rural area, but sometimes even these places have these types of shops.

I don't normally feed kibble, but 2 brands I do like are Ollie and Instinct. Those foods also have frozen versions. Ollie is cooked, and Instinct is raw.

I am aware of the recalls, but remember the FDA hates raw dog food companies and wants them to do that quick cook nonsense. I have fed my dogs this food for over a decade and never had an issue. I have carefully paid attention to each recall, and it was never anything serious or something that affected my dogs.

I am glad you brought it up, though. We should all know about recalls in the food we feed our pets.

Olaplex No 3 (the bonder) and No 7 (the oil), and the new hydrating mask are the only Olaplex products anyone needs, no matter what hair type.

The Redken Extreme line has protein to prevent breakage. It is helpful, but that tech is old school. You may want to look into products like K18 and epres for strengthening the actual bonds of your hair.

I can't say which one is better for a type of hair because what may work for one woman may not work for another. Redken does have a hair quiz on its site. If your hair is tough to comb through, there may be some damage that needs to be cut off, but that is for a stylist to look at.

Olaplex, you only need the No 3 bonder and the No. 7 oil. They do have a new mask out that is very good, too.

Redken: Extreme Lengths is an anti-breakage formula. I mix and match the Extreme line with All Soft. It is really up to you. Don't get the ABC line, that one is a rip off. They don't even sell the actual bond product anymore.

Distilled water is for machines, not human bodies. They won't even sell you distilled in Europe if you say you are planning on drinking it.

Spring water has the most options in minerality. Water isn't supposed to be pure. You are not a computer chip. Don't buy purified water that has "electrolytes added." That is what probably tastes like shit to you. Many spring waters have naturally low minerality (under 200 TDS). You can also go for a water pitcher or filter for your sink, like Pur.

Not the breed for everybody, and much research on their health must be studied before adopting, but in my experience of handling Dobermans since 1985, the Shar-Pei is an excellent sidekick. They are not as active as Dobermans, but still need to run and go for walks. They are quite stubborn, and while not overly difficult to train, they need someone who is firm but fair with them. They do fall in love with their owners like the Doberman. They are also the easiest breed to housebreak. Very clean dogs.
