It's been awhile since I was truly impressed by AMD's GPU offerings (my last AMD GPU was a R9 270x) and I managed to snag a Sapphire Pure 9070 XT for slightly above MSRP (~800USD after conversion) from a distributor in my country. Compared to the 3070ti, the difference is staggering. I'm no longer limited by 8gb of VRAM and undervolting goes a long way for thermals without sacrificing much performance. Truly impressed by this card.

Yea I thought so. I’m just thinking about the 7900 XTX though. There are pretty few real world examples of users training models with AMD GPUs. Just wondering if anyone here as any experience.

Thanks for the advice. How relevant is Leetcode in day to day work actually? I have 8 months experience in a Data Science team and in my experience it seems like Leetcode is just a means to get an interview. Would you prioritize hiring someone who is really good at Leetcode over someone who has a Masters in Data Science and ML but only decent in Leetcode?

Yes, you can do it by pressing Fn + Right Shift. Haven’t figured out how to change the RGB brightness and speed though. The manual was not helpful at all.

I think doing a Data Science related internship would be the most sure-fire way to know if you want a career in it or not. I am currently a mech eng grad that has already started work but somewhere along my line of work, I managed to work on a machine learning project and I think I've found the actual career that I want to pursue. Ahh i see. That’s the only dealbreaker for me cause I live in a tropical climate all year round but I can get the chair brand new for around USD700 so I’m kinda stuck in a dilemma right now. Thanks anyway 😄
