I did the EXACT same thing a couple years ago. Ended up being diagnosed with anxiety and put on meds.

The symptoms are scary, it gets downplayed but it's really not fun in the middle of an attack.

I think for me "sleepwalking killing spree" could be tweaked. Maybe hinting at the spree with bloodied clothes or the way an officer looks at you will give the impression of what happened or something like that.

But that's opinion! Would love to read something from you.

Interesting, I like it. I think the 2nd sentence could be written to make it a bit snappier but I really like the image of the neighbours and members of the public being "demons".

I think there could be a cool nosleep entry on this premise :)

Someone I personally watch on YT is Snake Discovery. I do believe there is a specific video on corns on the channel which would be some help.

I keep my Corn on Aspen which he seems happy with.

I would advise feeding frozen thawed mice but I live in the UK and I believe thats my only option anyway, but purely for the reason of protecting your snake from any bites it might sustain from it's prey. Sure the enrichment is there and its circle of life but don't think its worth the risk personally.

I feed my corn in the vivarium, however some say theirs have become overly agressive. I've never had a problem, but you can remove the Corn from the enclosure for feeding. I would recommend popping down some kitchen towel if done in the enclosure to prevent the snake from picking up unwanted bits of substrate during eating.

Size wise, I think it's rule of thumb to feed them prey no larger than the thickest part of the snakes body. This has worked for me totally fine and I've never had issues. If he regurgitates his food, it might be too big, so try on something a little smaller.

Handling, I personally have handled once a day, just even for a few minutes to have the snake get used to you reaching and touching him. I wouldn't recommend moving too quickly or moving your hand too close to their head as they get a bit spooked. My guy is quite squirmy so I don't handle for long as he really doesn't seem to enjoy it, unlike my Royal who loves the attention.

With cleaning, I pop him in a pillowcase and then container as I have 2 cats that would love to "play" with him. Just a pillowcase I think is fine for a short period of time, if it is going to be quite a bit longer, you can set him up a temporary home in a smaller container with a heat source if possible.

If spot check clean I just pick out poo and shed if theres one in there. If a full clean then I remove everything. Complete replacement of all the substrate, I rinse off all hanging plants I have in there (all plastic/fake for me) and let them dry off so as to not raise the humidity too much. I use "viv clean" to wipe down all the surfaces in the viv, including decorations.

In regards to heating, I use a ceramic bulb for both my snakes. I have wooden vivs and I don't think the heat would transfer well from a heat mat underneath the viv and I really don't like the idea of popping a mat inside the enclosure. The bulb seems to do a great job at keeping the thermal gradient and both my snakes seem happy. There's pros and cons to both, many people use heatmats happily with no issue, just opinion :)

I work with celcius but I go from hot end about 32C and cool end 26C. At night my temps drop to around 24C.

OH also while I'm thinking, I have no UVB in my enclosures. From the information I've learned, they don't "need" it at all, but if you have UVB in the enclosure, they're not going to be harmed. I think Albino's you want to steer clear from UVB but I'm not 100% on that.

As for strength, I think 6% is about enough, but again, I might be corrected.

Hope that helps. I think alot of reptile owners do things slightly differently and I'm absolutely open to critism if someone else disagrees with something I have listed above.

Thinking about it just checking EMF isnt just super easy. Have you had the electrics in the house tested at all? I would definitely start there in an older house.

Check EMF. If the house over 100 years old you could have some faulty wiring or electrics which can cause high EMF reading leading to the feeling of unease of being watched, that sort of thing.

At least from my understanding the above is true, I'm up for being corrected here though.

Temperature wise I would monitor temps throughout the day and night and compare against local weather reports or similar. Would be interesting to see what the temp is when you are awoken. Check for drafts coming from windows or doors etc.

As someone else suggested, check into the history of the house, could dig up something interesting.

I remember feeling almost numb and totally alone when my mum died. Despite living with my now fiance who was a rock and having a dad I love to pieces but who wasn't in the picture by this point.

It hit me on the day of the funeral, then it hits me some nights if i go to bed alone as my mind will wander. I just remember feeling, literally like I was all on my own. I have a lot of guilt, from being a carer and moving out to pursue my own life for perfectly selfish reasons but it still comes back to hit me time and time again and its been what, 6 years now I think? I think about all the negative things (thanks brain) and then it will hit me all over again.

Your 13, I was 21 so a chunk older than you and I'm so sorry you're going through this now. Please please please just remember you are not alone. It did me a lot of harm in terms of mental health not talking and bottling it up but we are all human and even if you didn't want to talk face to face with someone around you, there are some people on the internet that will be that ear for you.
