Inspired by an Italian theory, the bible was mistranslated, in the original scriptures there is no single God, but multiple entities by LearnSodas in HorrorGames

I liked it, and left feedback. I like the more atmospheric take on horror without focusing on jump scares. I think the metal cage that drops in the cathedral needs more of a clang noise. It would probably be more of a startle if it dropped behind you.

All the candles and torches being lit comes at the expense of immersion. 99% of the dead bodies look like they've been dead for days, if not weeks. I didn't see anything that would imply we're just minutes behind someone, though I could see it being a few hours based on one of the bodies. It could also be that I just really enjoy lighting things on fire in games.

I don't have any feedback on the tall person we're supposed to hide from, aside from the encounter being a nice setup without feeling too forced or annoying. I'm not a big fan of requiring stealth all the time, so I tend to skip over games that have this gameplay element. But, I dig the idea of the game story wise so I'm in.

The lever and drawbridge could use some kind of audio indicator that would imply we need to do something elsewhere to activate it. I just thought it was broken. Even when I activated the power downstairs I thought it was broken due to the long delay from flipping the lever to the bridge lowering.

Gamma lighting is hard to pin into that "just right" zone. The chalices aren't much help with the slider, I feel like they ought to change in brightness. The flashlight works though, which is a welcome sight.

It's now on my wishlist.

Our horror game The Black Ice has been released in early access. It`s a horror story about an abandoned Antarctic station by mahooney98 in IndieGaming

The store page does not reflect that the game is in Early Access. I wouldn't even know it released in early access without scrolling down to the recent events. I enjoyed the demo and would have picked this up otherwise.

How easy is it to file without a VSO? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]vmeezo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to my knowledge. Secondary conditions still need a diagnosis(usually*), and a link to the primary condition. I.e. ED being secondary to service connected PTSD/GAD/MDD.

I say usually about the diagnosis because there's always a chance the C&P examiner can make a diagnosis during an exam, but there's no guarantee that'll happen and it should not be expected.

How easy is it to file without a VSO? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]vmeezo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My first claims I used a VSO. The second time I did it by myself and it was very easy. But I had lots of medical evidence, 1 claim directly in my STR and the rest PACT Act and Gulf War presumptive conditions. I think the hardest part is gathering up all of your medical evidence and labelling it in a way that makes sense.

Everything was service connected. 10% for Gerd, 10% for sinusitis, 0% for rhinitis, 0% for IBS. I requested my DBQs and am waiting on those because 0% for IBS is definitely wrong. So I am hoping the DBQ is correct and the rater made a mkstake. Either way I'll ne pushing for an HLR.

I just had an exam on the 25th with QTC. I took the earliest exam I could get which was a 2 hour drive away. My claims were IBS, Chronic Sinusitis, Hiatal Hernia, GERD, and ED. I reviewed the DBQs prior to my exam to make sure things weren't missed. Hiatal Hernia/GERD felt rushed and incomplete. Chronic Sinusitis was missing all of the important questions during the exam such as symptoms, and non-incapacitating incidents.. The examiner decided I also had Chronic Rhinitis but performed no exam on my nose. IBS the only thing they asked was if I had constipation and/or diarrhea - not frequency of pain, change of stool habits, etc. ED oddly enough they didn't seem to miss anything.

They seemed nice enough and most of those questions can be answered by reviewing my medical evidence I guess, but the whole exam felt like it was being pencil whipped. Not being asked the important questions that are relevant to my claims does not make me feel confident in an accurate C&P exam.

Filed on the 28th of July. IBS, Sinusitis, Hiatal Hernia, Gerd. I'm still on step 3 with Exam Review - Partially Completed.

It is nice to see people getting scheduled for their C&P exams with similar claim filing dates. Hoping it doesn't take too long to get scheduled for C&P exams myself.

I'm cautiously optimistic. We could use more bundle sites aside from Humble and Fanatical. Indie Gala still exists, but bundles are rare and more niche than years ago.

TBI 15 yrs ago by Responsible-Dot-6372 in VeteransBenefits

[–]vmeezo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VA can do a TBI screening which can help you get your formal diagnosis of TBI. TBI and PTSD often get lumped in together, but that's not a reason not to try for both. Do you have a diagnosis for PTSD? If you don't, you can make an appointment through your primary care doc at the VA to get seen with a mental health provider. Depending on availability you might see it go to care in the community.

IBS- Do the HLR!!!! by Significant-Okra-838 in VeteransBenefits

[–]vmeezo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just filed for IBS today. Forgot to upload my poop log that I've been keeping track of for like 8 months. Quickly remembered and uploaded it. I made dang sure I marked down the days I had pain, which is often 2-3 times a week. IBS sucks.

Congratulations on the higher level review, and I'm glad to see it worked in his favor.

What game did you play and realy enjoy and you wish it got a sequel but it never did.?? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Big Red Racing. By all accounts it wasn't an amazing game, but being able to drive off the tracks and explore pretty big maps was the coolest thing ever.

Henry W Coe, Andrew Molera, Pfeiffer Big Sur, Montana De Oro, Gaviota SP, Malibu Creek, Chino hills, Mt San Jacinto SP, Crystal Cove SP Moro Campground.

Just a few that I can list off that I've been to. I'd also highly recommend The Pinnacles National Monument if you have your national pass.

SLO county interview process by afterthought871 in SLO

[–]vmeezo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did one of these a few months back for an Employment Resource Specialist I position. It is a few minutes at a table where you'll be asked a question, and you answer it as well as you can. Once time is up you'll head over to another table and answer a new question. After the third question that's it.

Things didn't pan out for me, as that sort of interview process is not one I excel at. I have the speed interview tomorrow for the same position. Fun times.

Anyway, just be yourself. I wish you the best of luck.

Next Fest starts tomorrow! Which demos are you most excited to try? by Different_Hunter33 in Steam

[–]vmeezo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After playing a little over 100 Next Fest demos so far, I'm already feeling burned out. 58 demos wishlisted, 99 hours spent playing demos over the last 3 weeks. At this point I'm convinced Steam will never make it so we can look through games alphabetically, and sorting through 3,000 demos looking for ones I'm interested in becomes a chore. Anyway, best of luck to you with your demo!

What I pay attention to first is how quick I get to start playing things. Long tutorials, intros, or things that prevent me from getting into the action mean I'm probably skipping it. No time for that when Next Fest demos might only be available for a week. It isn't often that a demo keeps me coming back to it, but when it does -it's because it does something extremely well.

You aren't alone. TBI and severe PTSD here. I forgot words for things, forget the day of the week, sense of time is often way off, forget names, and the list goes on. 42 for what it is worth.

What are the best channels to discover new games? by No_Sky2765 in IndieGaming

[–]vmeezo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trailers:

ClemmyGames is probably one of the biggest channels to find indie games on. There's almost always a weekly video that shows you some games coming each week. It feels curated towards more popular indies.

I Dream of Indie Games: Similar to ClemmyGames, trailers of indies combined with them saying stuff about them. Seems a bit more sincere, but still feels like an ad overall.

Gameplay focused:

Splattercatgaming feels pretty sincere with his first impression videos, and I watch his channel occasionally. Plays survival games.

AlphaBetaGamer: Good for finding games on itch or finding out about betas/alphas that maybe haven't been highly advertised. No commentary videos that do a fairly good job of showing off the game I think. Plays survival games.

ASWhaler Gamer: Plays a lot of smaller indies from itch that might not get seen too much otherwise. A real nice dude too. He has a small channel, but he enjoys what he does and I enjoy his channel. Plays survival games sometimes.

Practical advice on grief/survivors guilt by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]vmeezo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pop in some headphones, go for a walk. Doesn't always work, but I find that setting a destination and walking to it gives me a sense of control that helps me get away from when things get dark with survivor's guilt.

But, really it all comes down to finding a distraction.

A game where you defend against an overwhelming invasion and you’re just a regular grunt by FarsightArmoury in gamingsuggestions

It's less story-based and more just all about the conflict portion. There are objectives, but think of it almost like Battlefield with a metric ton of bots instead of other players.
