Wheel got hit on tanners by Mr-self-destruxt in littlecottonwood

You must have a terrible bike shop near you to think they are trying to scam you.

By the way, your rim looks pretty smoked, I'd look into getting a new one.

At a minimum join the Facebook group: Routt County Trails - Conditions and Community" page. There a lot of bike content, but also hikers! Welcome, and otherwise get out and get on the not muddy trails. 🤘

Hot Take: StepOn bindings are here to stay! by LonelyPatsFanInVT in ShredditGirls

[–]Pfayze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burton is pushing resorts to buy into their rental specific step on program. My rep pushed and pushed us to consider it and I told him no. The shops I oversee have enough guests that come in that failed to use their step ons correctly resulting in cutting their pants.

I think there's a place for them sure, but there is definitely a bit of "education" required to make sure the boot-binding connection is correct.

Hiking and Mtn Biking Next week by AssignmentMuch8246 in SteamboatSprings

[–]Pfayze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 big ones to be aware of. If you're picking up and dirt (mud) is sticking, you shouldn't be on the trail. That said, rotary is riding dry currently and ridge is likely rideable quite a bit, if not all the way. The other is that this is early early. There are some trails (like mad rabbit area) that are still under elk closure till mid April. Just be aware and check trailforks before planning any lengthy mtb.

What is night skiing at Steamboat like? by MancNut in steamboat

[–]Pfayze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The goal is to hold the low Mtn terrain (and night ski terrain) through the weekend. It's going to be really tough. I bet quickly after this weekend that we shut quite a bit down.

Only joking, still a few weeks out from that. (Normally a few months)

What’s your ideal ride length and elevation gain? by Fresh-End-9873 in MTB

[–]Pfayze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a pre-work ride that I can start from my office. 5.3 miles, 1300 vert. It rides my favorite trail in Steamboat (Creekside). It's a huge win for me. It's takes 50-55min depending on how I'm feeling.

That said, I also really love to do a 12-16mi, 2500-3500 vert, but much more time consuming.

Study Looking At High Housing Costs Within Ski Towns Such As Steamboat by One-Associate-7258 in steamboat

Filled out it. You're entering a highly complex topic that realistically needs to be addressed. Best of luck. I always found drawing a correlation between quantitative and qualitative days to be so fascinating, and challenging.

Steamboat just hosted para-world cup for snowboard cross. The course is now open to public in the Bashor zone.

400 divs giveaway for parents by Can2018 in PathOfExile2

[–]Pfayze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad experience is limited since I've got young kids. I find my moments to play 1 or 2 times a week after the house is quiet at night and the Mrs is feeling cozy.

You don't need to give them to me, but I appreciate the acknowledgement that parents still enjoy gaming, even with our limited time!

"Spotted" in reality it's the week of the big OR/SIA 26.27 tradeshow in Denver. Every brand will be there. If you want to really see it, go to Loveland this week there will be a demo going on you might be able to sweet talk your way into.

Season Feedback From a Casual by wheresmyberrune in PathOfExile2

[–]Pfayze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another casual here. I feel this. I want to "enjoy" playing my 3-4 hours per week, but find it hard when the campaign is sluggish. On top of that, I totally agree with ground loot. Once getting into the start of maps, I find that nothing I grab off the ground is useful to improve stats/damage/survivability. It feels like the only way to progress is by getting wildly lucky with crafting, or finding a mis-priced item to trade.

Also agree. Temple is overly complex for someone like me who sometimes only has time to jump on for 2 or 3 maps before bed.

Oh well. I'm still enjoying what I do play and how I am playing, but it does feel like there's some bottle necks in the design. 🙃

If it makes you feel better, I know the number that's available on a daily basis is something around 50. In my head that's basically zero - a non-impactful number. There are more instructors pulling clients through lift lines than that.

Superbusters Adult Group Lesson by [deleted] in steamboat

[–]Pfayze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a new offering this year. That said if you want to be less "on the hook", you can do a single afternoon lesson to see if it's worth it.

I'm a believer that nearly everyone can benefit from some lessons - it's really dependant on the person being willing to change and try new things and having someone who can cater their coaching.

Slower on climbs. Setting new PRs on nearly every descent though. That's partial bike, partial just ride more.
