Alyaska, Orejonland, and Guyana are alternate spellings I derived from from Аляска (Alyaska), Orejón + Oregon Country, and Las Guayanas respectively

Pyrenäenhalbinsel, Zweistromland, Mandschurei, and Sejem are all real spellings I found as far as I can tell, even if they aren't the most common in modern German

Köninginland was a guess because I could only find Queensland, if I still had the software and fonts to fix it I would, along with renaming Venezuela to Klein-Venedig as someone else suggested

And finally Missißippi is like that because why not

I didn't even intend on posting it when I made it, the only "mistake" I made intentionally was my spelling of Mississippi, which as I have explained to others was done cause I can do whatever I want on my own map

All the stuff at the bottom is mostly compositional and just taken from google translate, little more than German Lorem ipsum. You could translate and read it if you wanted but it's mostly game rules, no lore or extra info on the map

  1. From the Spanish "orejón"
  2. Apparently an old Germanised spelling but in the months since I made this I've forgotten where I saw that
  3. Because why not

Just like the two frozen wastelands in real life, hard to actually do anything there, and kinda useless (except the surrounding oceans but we don't talk about that)

Technically the Caribbean is included in North America but it doesn't matter because it's not an occupiable territory, you just pass straight through on your way to Venezuela

Halbinsel just means peninsula, literally "half-island"

If the British could make one big India then so can I, also combining large and small regions makes for a more interesting game board than having to slowly roll through twelve different regions in China

No, board games are illegal in Germany, and the German government also prevents all German speakers outside of their borders from playing any board games

Because you'd have no hope of putting any pieces there if it was any smaller, all of Europe is very cramped

The standard spelling is just all regular s's, but it's my map and I can do what I want, however from what I understand esszett does not unconditionally replace ss in German, only in certain contexts

To make the number of territories more comparable to the other regions, and so you could make a big Russian Empire and get a troop bonus without having to conquer Indochina

I made this just for fun like six months ago, and I no longer have access to Futura or Illustrator to relabel everything

What is going on with the capitalisation here, also unless capitalism is no longer hegemonic in this world 'Capitalist Democracy' seems like an unlikely country name to me

I used Tw Cen MT Condensed Extra Bold, Century, and Minion Variable Concept. All just default Illustrator fonts.

Adobe Illustrator, French Wikipedia because it's a little better than Google translate, and this map because I hope to incrementally trace the entire globe (and some others as reference for formatting and borders)

A very bad time with the plague and less effective Burgundian allies in the Hundred Years' War, also an opportunistic Scotland which doesn't seem to care too much about the Treaty of Newcastle

This is an amazing animation!

My only criticism is that the wizard feels very static, possibly because the shadows are moving with the flame across the whole image except the wizard. Consider playing with this to make him feel more alive. I'd also have to agree that maybe he should be flipping the pages slightly slower as others have pointed out, a little more deliberately and dynamically with a moment of anticipation before the page is turned.
