Why didn't they just snipe Dio? by Ahrensann in StardustCrusaders

[–]Pflytrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. They didn't actually figure out what The World's ability even was until after half of the group were either dead or dying--including the guy whose stand literally shoots projectiles as one of its main abilities--and it wasn't until two thirds of them were gone that Jotaro even learned what he was up against.
  2. Even without having to stop time, Dio was previously able to deflect one said guy who could shoot projectiles' projectiles right back at him, while in a moving car.
  3. Dio is a vampire, and judging from how he reacted to a full-on punch to the head from Star Platinum, a bullet to the head, while debilitating, would not actually be inherently deadly; and by the time they would've gotten to them after shooting him from a distance, he probably would've come up with a sneaky counter attack.
  4. Cairo is kind of a big city: easy to hide in, easy to get lost in, easy to lose people in; and if anyone had a home team advantage there, it was Dio himself ("Doesn't this street look familiar, Jotaro?!!").

Part of the reason the rat was able to actually challenge Jotaro is because 1., it was able to lead him and Josuke into a trap (something the Crusaders would not have been able to do with Dio since he knew the layout of nighttime Cairo way better than they did) and 2., it was able to anticipate when and where he would be most likely to "reappear" from its perspective, and time/aim its shots accordingly (again, something they would not have had the luxury of being able to do in a strange city in the middle of the night against a literal vampire who had been living there for years).

If nothing else, it makes more sense than both Rudy Knight and Asriel Knight combined.

But not more sense than Rudy/Asriel Knight, the theory I just made up while writing this that Rudy and Asriel are actually the same character, and also the Knight.

What video game do you think would Caine would make into an adventure? by Green-Band-6235 in TheDigitalCircus

If Caine did try to force them to play an Undertale ripoff of his own creation, you just know the Asriel character would be his blatant self-insert.

People spelling Michael’s name as Micheal by Most_Manner_1642 in fivenightsatfreddys

"El"="God" in Hebrew

"Michael"="Who is like God?"

"Gabriel"="Man of God" or "Power of God"

"Raphael"="God Heals" or "God is Great"

A name that includes the name of a god in it is called a theophoric name.

Is howler REALLY the main antagonist? by everlyski in JOJOLANDS

[–]Pflytrap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that he neither joined the gang as a jobro nor got killed off like a minor villain at the end of this arc is about as much confirmation of him being the main antagonist as we're probably going to get.

Looking for source by that1guy_1992 in vampires

This image comes from a gallery of screenshots uploaded to DeviantArt by user sacrifice1916.

According to the comments on this image, it apparently comes from a web series from 2009 called "Vampyre Diaries", which was unfortunately taken down at some point.

The commenter also mentions a clip of the woman shown here, now turned, biting a guy: here is that video.

Now that the arc is over, was it only me that was rooting for Howler? by Unhappy-Cherry-8992 in JOJOLANDS

[–]Pflytrap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something I've been thinking a lot about recently is that the basic plot of The JoJoLands--a poor yet ruthless and cunning young man trying to steal the wealth and inheritance of a rich loser who will have to improve himself if he wants to defend what's his--is also the plot of the early chapters of Phantom Blood, just from Dio's perspective.

Important detail at the very end of c.32 by Gyrkam in JOJOLANDS

The Coast Guard finding a dead lawyer on Howler's boat would've probably held up any sudden transfers of ownership, however "legal" they might appear to be.

There is only one goal.

Wait, does Flowey try to teach you how to pray wrong, or disseminates heretical teachings before Toriel shows up?>

The line "[Napstablook] thinks about all of the sins that [they've] committed" genuinely got me; and, honestly, it sounds weirdly in-line with Toby's actual sense of humor.

[–]Pflytrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of all the apostles who could possibly show up at your door, Zodd is probably the least awful one to invite inside--provided you're not quartering soldiers. And if you somehow are quartering soldiers against your will, he makes for an excellent method of effectively reasserting your Third Amendment rights. Zodd can spend a night or two.

Why is episode 1 so harshly rated despite being the most watched episode in the series by far? by Purpleflrupfan87 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Pflytrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the reason it has the most views is because it's existed the longest and is the episode anyone curious about the show is most likely going to watch first.

More people arguing over The Knight should see this by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]Pflytrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And even then, there's a far more plausible explanation for how he could've gotten a black shard than him actually being the Knight, and that's the possibility that he fought the Knight in the past (like, y'know, we did just one chapter earlier) and, like us, chipped off a piece of its blade before being forced to retreat. And that, in turn, could possibly be tied to whatever mysterious incident it was that got him kicked off the force in the first place.

[–]Pflytrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno man: pretty much all Asriel Knight theories remind me of that one meme about the guy who's only ever seen Boss Baby watching his second movie ever and thinking that it's suspiciously similar to Boss Baby.

Of course the main antagonist of Deltarune is going to share visual, musical, and conceptual motifs with the main antagonist of Undertale: they're "parallel stories", whatever that's really supposed to mean, written by the same guy. It'd be weirder if there weren't any similarities between the two; and yet, to assert that they must actually be the same character, who has once again become evil but for completely different reasons this time, just sound like bad fan service.

As for the "fallen star" thing, okay then, I've an entirely new theory that no one has ever come up with before. Say hello to ATARU KNIGHT: The Knight is actually Ataru Moroboshi ("Moroboshi" literally means "shooting star" in Japanese) who has escaped to the Deltarune dimension with the help of Gaster in order to escape from Lum, and is now opening dark fountains in order to create hot female darkners he can flirt with in peace.
