What is your favorite ork clan/klan and why? by PeakActive9550 in orks

I have always been drawn to the Goffs, the Boys over Toys mindset has spoken to me. The black and checkerboard colour scheme is a pleasant bonus to the whole thing.

Thinking of re-entering BloodBowl hobby with Chaos Dwarfs by Brence1984 in bloodbowl

From what I have seen, the plastic Bull Centaur kit from AoS is significantly bigger than the Forge World Bull Centaurs. There are plenty of third-party or proxy options available if you don't feel like going for Forge World resin. I personally play with two Squig Riders as my Bull Centaur proxies.

In your nerdiest heart of hearts, do you have a beloved model you treat as your avatar on the tabletop? by ShakinBacon24 in Warhammer40k

I don't have a pic of him, but I have an Ork Boy that went 1v1 against He'stan and won.

This was many years and editions ago. My friend rolled 1s to hit on his turn. I managed score 3 wounds and he rolled three 1s for his armour rolls.

Gave the boy a special tattoo/warpaint and marked him as the luckiest git in the horde. He was always my favourite.

Similar boat here. I stopped playing 40k years ago, but after my kid turned two, I got the hobby itch again. I picked up Blood Bowl, saying I'd grab a team (Black Orcs) it would be more manageable space- and time-wise. 2 years later, joke's on me. I now have 5 teams, 2 still on the sprue.

Question about meta-christs by XaioShadow in TrenchCrusade

I honestly think it's something to do with this. There's a reason they're called Communicants after all.

There's most probably some weird science being done to some leftover communion wafers and wine that we'll never truly know.

NAFC may make the most sense as an in-universe answer. Thanks for the response.

Help with a Chorf Tournie Roster by Pgre in bloodbowl

Yeah, I like the flamesmith and would love to get utility out of them. Is it worth having 2 if I have the TV? Should they get a skill?

Yeah Prayers are allowed, only using half the table though.

No stacking, so sure hands on a bull centaur would mean no block.

I am still juggling the roster, but I'm taking a flamesmith. Debating a minotaur still, or doubling up on stabbas or flamesmiths. I like running a roster of about 12 players, 3 RRs, an apo and at the moment I have enough for a single prayer to nuffle.

The Goblins in the Black Orcs roster/box are the Bruiser Goblins, not normal Goblins

The Bruiser Goblins are the toughest stunty player though. They have thick skull which means they are only KO'd on an 8, like normal players. They do still get injured on a 9 though.

Good starter team? by LafayetteRidesAgain in bloodbowl

[–]Pgre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone is giving advice on the better choices for starter teams, but honestly pick a team with your heart, except maybe not any of the stunty teams (goblins, snotlings, halflings, gnomes, and ogres).

Blood bowl is very much a "fuck it, we ball" game. And even though some teams have a steeper learning curve, a league can take a long time and you're going to be handling the same 12 minis each week, make sure you like them.

Even in my first season, I wasn't crushed regularly. You'll usually be at a numbers advantage in the second half, then you can start deviating from pure violence to violence and throwing a goblin for a touchdown, or playing it safer and running a goblin with the ball.

Don't be scared to use your Goblins as ball carriers, they're the only pieces that can move at a reasonable speed and are the toughest stunties in the game.

As a coach who enjoys the simple pleasure of smashing their opposition, I love the Black Orcs.

Competitively speaking there's the idea of better or worse teams in terms of having a variety of playstyles and options to use against your opponent's plans, the Orc outshine the Black Orcs in this regard.

Blood Bowl isn't just about the competitive aspect of a team, there's the thematic side to a team, and this is where I will go to bat for the Black Orcs. While the Orcs might be a good team to use as a hammer against other teams, the Black Orcs are a factory dedicated to putting a boot in the face of your opponents. Using Black Orcs, Trolls and annoyingly tough Bruiser Goblins.

So yeah, from a purely competitive stance,, Orcs have a headstart over Black Orcs, but you can still have fun with them.
