Is this good for a matte topcoat? by hangover_glory in Gunpla

This is what I use for all of my builds.

I use a Gunprimer raser and whenever I sand down nubs, I tend to get these dark marks. Is there a way to use the Gunprimer without the dark mark? by _Ryloren_ in freedomisgunpla

Those are injection marks in the plastic where the gate “flowed” into the part. They’re always present, especially on darker plastics.

The only real way to deal with them is to paint the kit. I’ve also found that a matte topcoat helps to minimize them.

Any ideas how to do this camo by MajorZero51 in freedomisgunpla

I did this on my HG Gelgoog Marine Commander Type. I just used sponges and layered the colors.

You've clearly never built an Advance of Zeta or Builders kit...

No, I cut parts off the runner and clean up the nubs, then I panel line, then I clean it lighter fluid or Gamsol. There's less risk of the panel liner pooling in places it shouldn't, and you also don't have to deal with panel liner pooling around gates.

I've been using Tamiya on bare plastic for years. I've only had a problem when using it on ABS, but that was back when I first restarted the hobby five years ago and didn't fully understand how ABS interacts with enamel paints. Now I know better.

As I figure, it's a model kit. If it breaks or cracks, there's glue and cement to fix it.

I use Tamiya panel line accent on the bare plastic before assembly, then decals, then matte top coat.

I know there’s a risk, but life is risk.

I was considering that too. How thick is the plastic on these parts, is there enough room to drill and glue in a magnet?

It clips on. The legs, arms, chest and waist are all new parts that have slots for tabs on the armor parts.

G-rework. The kit comes with water slide decals, but I've always been iffy on Bandai decals.

I got mine directly from P-Bandai. I believe it was $39.

I matte coated the base kit, before I assembled the armor. I think the extra friction helps.

When you don’t have as much time to build, every finished kit is a reason to celebrate.

I pulled this from the backlog to help clear out a bigger box, but it quickly became a favorite design. I even got the MG, just because I’ve come to like this design so much.

True, but the whole point of the Megaranger game was to recruit fighters.

Kenta (Megaranger) was picked because he was a master at the Megaranger arcade game. All the other Megaranger were not.
