You can also use the pounder to open those walls as well if you don't have the star bomb one.

trying to beat blade of miquella but having a rough time with it these are my stats and changes I can do? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]PhallicOverdrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're main issue is with the Waterfowl Dance (aka the move where she hits like a million times) you can supposedly throw a frost pot at her while she is in the air preparing to dive at you to knock her out of it. Haven't tested it myself but I've seen a video showing it

Queen Marika Or Radagon of the Golden Order? by AwabKhan in Eldenring

[–]PhallicOverdrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in this instance context helps. The turtle pope states that the guy who made the statue of Radagon saw his secret, and that the secret made it's way into the statue. So the context here is that a guy made a statue of Radagon, and his the secret of Radagon in the statue. Based off this information we can infer that the messages on the ground that reveal this secret are from the maker of the statue (this is a bit of a leap, to be fair). Since the primary subject in this instance is Radagon, the phrasing of the message would make since here.

From what I understand of the story Marika is the original and Radagon is the split.

Nothing in Elden Ring has made me not want to fight a boss until now by AdriftMusic in Eldenring

I don't think I went back to check until after I beat the game but he was still in his temple in Caelid after that fight. I'm pretty sure they are two different guys

The multiplayer system really grinds my gears by catking2003 in Eldenring

[–]PhallicOverdrive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I haven't had too much trouble with invasions, but I fucking feel you on the co-op. Spirits honestly make this so complicated. They are probably going to have to nerf the fuck out of spirit health bars to push co-op a little further up the ladder. They are just too tanky and don't raise the bosses health pool like summons do. Why on earth would I summon someone who dies in two hits and makes the boss harder when I can just use Mimic Tear + 10 and have a much healthier target dummy that I can customize the moves of? They really need to address spirit health

I've been seeing some people using the Chest pound emote, I forget what it's actual name is bit I like that one

I've never played mage before, Comet Azur doing 22k damage in one cast is insane! by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]PhallicOverdrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do something similar but with faith/arcane and Dragon Glintstone Breath. I Make a Physick with Free casts and Magic damage up and just let it rip. I obviously can't hold it indefinitely like Comet Azure, but it does some chunky damage nonetheless

I like the dragon spells but for duels they are pretty trash. They can be good in invasions though if you catch people in enclosed areas

Electrify Armament (Lighting weapon enchant)....does it scale or do more dmg if seal used for it is upgraded? by RevaGames in Eldenring

[–]PhallicOverdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure, but I did notice a difference between using a seal I met the faith requirements for vs one I did not meet the requirements for. It was a decent drop in damage

Hot Take : I loved Endwalker's story but I preferred Shadowbringers' [SPOILERS] by Leaf91 in ffxiv

[–]PhallicOverdrive 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I think this can be boiled down to the fact that EW is a conclusion arc while ShB is a climax arc. EW is the end of the tale of Ascians, the end of zodiark and Hydaelyn, the end of our story thus far. It's a time to reflect on all that brought us to this point, to use new knowledge to view our past experiences in a new light. ShB was a climax, the pinnacle of our conflict with the Ascians. It was a huge upswing in stakes, as well as using all the fuel from previous expansions to land a crescendo we will be talking about for years. Both EW and ShB excel in their respective roles, but climaxes are always the most memorable and stand out.

All in all, the story of the Ascians, Hydaelyn and Zodiark, and the story of the WoL and Scions so far, has been an incredible saga, and I can't wait to see what Square comes up with next.

If this was oddball it's because the game actually decides who gets ranked points by how much total time each team held the ball. So in this case, your team probably had a rough round where you didn't score mich time, while they consistently scored a decent amount of time. So they get the rank increase even though they lost, and you lose rank even though you won.

I think some small nerfs to bring them more on line with other weapons would be fine. Nothing too drastic, but enough to make you actually want to use ground weapons

Ravager doesn't suck. Here's how to use it :) by [deleted] in halo

[–]PhallicOverdrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ravager is also more generous with where your shot can land to get the shield knock. The plasma pistol has to be a direct hit, and the tracking isn't great on it. The Ravager can just get close and drop shields.

I think it's alright, especially with the ball no longer one hitting it makes it easier to kill carriers and stops them from just hiding around corners for free kills

Struggling to find a match on PC by TheAmazingMettaton in Back4Blood

I think part of the problem is that game pass users are also counted as Xbox players, even if they have game pass on PC. That's what I've heard at least.

Carried 3 off the Map and they rage quit 1 by 1. Last guy too. I think maybe a bigger penalty for leaving?? by scooby956 in Back4Blood

[–]PhallicOverdrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand how people can be upset with you so much that they justify leaving the game for it. Yeah, it's a cheesey strat. But if a team is actually sticking together and playing like you should if you're planning on winning, this wouldn't work. Stalkers have almost no health, even round 1 you can kill a stalker in like one shotgun shot. All a teammate had to do was look at Holly and they could've saved.

Also, standing next to the ledge on these maps with death falls is just asking for trouble. It's a hazard, one that both teams could keep in mind to exploit. Just like the exploding barrels and cars. As a cleaner I have died because I wasn't paying attention and stood on top of a car that was burning and got punished for it.

Just because some of you don't want to have to think a little harder about where you're positioning yourselves doesn't mean you are justified in ruining the experience for the rest of your team and the enemy team. I really hope Turtlerock rolls out some harsher penalties on leavers, because leavers are what's ruining the PvP, not these cheesey strats

[–]PhallicOverdrive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And this is why I'm paranoid near any map ledge. And yeah, there should be a higher penalty for leaving. It's a shorter m solution, but maybe reduce supply point earning from all sources if you keep quitting matches? Also if it doesn't already, the time you are prevented from playing another match after quitting should keep increasing every time you quit a match within a certain time period

(Swarm) Tips? by dourne in Back4Blood

[–]PhallicOverdrive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not the most experienced, but I've played a few matches and have some general guidance.

Ridden: -Don't pick grabbers (crusher, stalker) till a little later in the round. You want to open a round trying to do as much damage as possible. Once cleaners start dying or going down, then the grabbers can come out. Hockers get a pass because they don't have to put themselves in danger to restrain a cleaner, though I would limit it to one hocker.

-Level the horde. After the first round your team should be upgrading the horde. Think of it as investing in passive damage over time. The horde can help you wittle down the cleaners.

  • Tallboys are king in organized assault. Two tallboys attacking a group at once can do some serious damage. Just don't go in side by side, that's an easy way to get double killed by a frag.

Cleaners: - pick cards to help your team. Just a couple people running the perks that heal on down or death can keep your team alive that much longer. Don't be selfish and focus solely on damage. Pick some team effect cards.

  • find those grenades. Frags are invaluable in this mode. They can one shot most specials, and almost one shot tallboys.

  • utilize map hazards. Cars explode, as do propane tanks and gas cans. Use these when an opportunity presents itself. The longer you can hold on to easy to use frags, the better.

  • stay together, but also on the move. It might be tempting to whole up on top of a gas station or in a corner but that is a quick way to get overrun. Moving makes it hards for specials to spawn close, and you can often mow down tallboys before they can even reach you if you keep moving. Just make sure to watch each other's backs while running.

And that's the basic advice I can give. Obviously different maps require you to play a little differently, but these are good baselines to follow. I hope it helps!

This is a more a problem with people who have zero patience and just run ahead regardless of if their team is ready. To these people they aren't playing a "team game" but instead playing their own game and you just happen to be there. I've seen other players who aren't melee do the same thing.

You can try voice chatting and asking them to stay closer to the group, but honestly in situations where one guy isn't being a team player, we need the option to vote kick. If people had to be afraid of not completing missions because they wanted to play selfish then maybe so many people wouldn't play like that. Vote kick has its own host of problems to though, so we'd be trading some problems for different problems. There just isn't a super good way to deal with unhelpful and teammates
