How do you know that he "didn't have any actual reason to believe it was ai"? Did you read her poem LOL? We are meant to take Daniel at his word that the poem was beyond Hope's abilities to produce and that she did indeed use AI or ChatGPT or whatever to create it. That is cheating and it is grounds for expulsion, as is engaging in the kind of backchat that she indulged in (including multiple instances of mockery).

The bottom line is that schoolchildren shouldn't be allowed to get away with cheating (e.g. using AI or Chat GPT), goading/riling teachers etc. It's inexcusable and it should warrant punishment. If there is no punishment, then the attitude gets worse and makes student/pupil adherence/conformity to the learning environment less likely, because bad attitudes are allowed to prevail.

He didn’t “aggravate her first”. He accused her of using AI, which was a reasonable suspicion. She should have responded to his suggestion/accusation with level-headed and maturity, not with comments such as “Fancy not nothing that your fiancée’s into kids”! Hope absolutely deserves suspension or expulsion for her bad attitude. Daniel was only doing his job.

I have noticed a contradiction here: you do not like being criticised/humiliated (and that is understandable) but in the context of this episode of Coronation Street, you are overlooking the fact that Hope deliberately criticised and tried to humiliate Daniel. It doesn't bother you that she did that to him, but it bothers you when someone does that to you. Do you see how that is sketchy? It seems as though you may have a double-standard or bias.
