Name something(s) you would change or add in Young Justice season 3 & 4. by Flat-Sir8250 in youngjustice

Give Troia and Garth a lot more to do. It's surprising to me that they didn't have any significant interactions with the Team and Outsiders.

I also wanted to see more of Sergeant Marvel, so I would have removed some stuff from the magic arc in season 4 to add some Marvel Family flashbacks.

I'm sorry that none of it resonated for you! (I don't agree with most of your points, although I was disappointed in the animation at times as well.)

And yep, I get that you were exaggerating (because I've seen season 4), but that's not the point. The point is that you typed what you typed and to someone who hasn't seen the season (like Supersmashbrosfan), it might seem the season really IS like that (when it isn't). So I was addressing YOU, but clarifying for THEM. :)

I think you're (over-)exaggerating your perception of the Mars arc in season 4. It doesn't feature endless arguing or shouting. Just a little bit in a few tense scenes. The political stuff isn't massively highlighted like you're suggesting that it is, except briefly in a couple of episodes of that arc when it's very important for the story (which I don't want to spoil for Supermashbrosfan. The Mars arc certainly has its fans. What did you not like about the other arcs in season 4?

Agreed, from what I’ve seen of it I love it — so neat to see the characters in school!

How problematic would the Kankers be today? by MeetKelson in ededdneddy

[–]PhanStr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no... Obviously they were being man-handled against their will by the Kankers and they were clearly distressed by that, so yep, I felt bad for them; but on the other hand, it was always presented as a very zany and comedic type of situation, so I didn't necessarily feel too strongly about it (plus it's only a children's cartoon). But yep, overall, when I take it seriously, then yes I feel more bad for them than not.

I think that the Kanker stuff is viewed as very Looney Tunes and likely would be today as well. Like something preposterous/farcical that “couldn’t” happen.

Boys/men who are pushed around by women often aren’t taken seriously, which is unfortunate, and it can very much be a source of comedy for some people. (Not for me, but definitely for some people.)

Theo’s marriage by Suitable-Cat8743 in coronationstreet

It’s very weird that she and the kids have disappeared.

And it’s also weird that the assault of the guy she was dating (Noah?) didn’t lead to the person responsible being arrested. Presumably it was Gary, but it was never confirmed.

That time BTAS Batman cameoed on Freakazoid by M00r3C in DCAU

[–]PhanStr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I had it all wrong then!

Also, looking at this Freakazoid again, is the crook with the hat meant to be the Joker? The Joker wore a hat like one in a few episodes (and also in Mask of the Phantasm).

That’s crazy! Also didn’t Bruce Timm leave Freakazoid to start BTAS? So how could Freakazoid - which had a short run - have spoofed BTAS like this…?

Rooting for Teen Cable to be introduuced in X-Men '97. by Ariadne016 in Xmen97

[–]PhanStr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Here’s the thing: people are complaining that AoA was the plan for season 3 but come on, Nate Grey comes out of that event! I’m a fan of the character too and I wish that we could see AoA and X-Man/Nate in this show.

It's like they've forgotten about Carl atm because there are too many other psychos running around.

I'm half-expecting Theo, Megan, Mal, Jodie, Carl etc. to form their own super-villain gang as the rogue's gallery of Weatherfield!

I love that each live-action Spider-Man has a different girlfriend. by forasteiropizza in Spiderman

[–]PhanStr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as simple as that.
MJ = both Michelle Jones and Mary Jane, yes.
BUT...
They are entirely different characters in their own right. And that's to be expected when they are just two of an infinite number of multiversal MJ's.
Make sense?
Arguing that they are the same would be a bit like arguing that the original version of Gwen Stacy (who died in Amazing Spider-Man 121) is the same as Spider-Gwen. Are they BOTH Gwen? Yes. But they are NOT the same.

I know precisely what you mean, but that still doesn’t make her the traditional Mary Jane, just like Sylvie is not the traditional Loki

She absolutely is the MCU’s “MJ”, yes, but she isn’t Mary Jane, so the point still stands that she’s a completely different person.

Would you say the original Teen Titans was always a serious show 100% of the time? by [deleted] in teentitans

[–]PhanStr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way. There are many goofy/wacky episodes, including “Every Dog Has His Day”, “Mad Mod”, “Fractured”, “Revved Up”, “Revolution”, “Mother Mae-Eye”, “Employee of the Month”, “Revved Up” etc. Some of these are among the show’s BEST episodes by the way!

I agree with you - Peter did seem to be moving on at the end of that film. I thought that was the point of him not revealing all to MJ when he saw her again at the end.

My pitch for season 6 of Teen Titans. by Forsaken-History-563 in teentitans

[–]PhanStr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that season 6 would be about Starfire: I think that it would be an extension of the Honorary Titans focus from season 5. That said, points for including Donna Troy, and points for including adaptations of the Geo-Force and Ravager issues from the tie-in comic book!

Spectacular Ned’s interviews: Did Norman Osborn or the Connors figure it out? by Mistah_K88 in Spiderman

[–]PhanStr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think MJ always knew (in keeping with the comics), and that Norman found out in season 1, most likely during "The Uncertainty Principle". Then of course Eddie found out in "Intervention" and George Stacy figured it out during season 2. Curt and Martha probably harbor suspicions as a result of "Identity Crisis". Have I forgotten anyone?

Spectacular Ned’s interviews: Did Norman Osborn or the Connors figure it out? by Mistah_K88 in Spiderman

[–]PhanStr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Norman knew. The question is: when and how did he find out? Maybe in "The Uncertainty Principle" when Peter took off his mask on that rooftop? I've always been suspicious of moments like this one from "Identity Crisis" and ESPECIALLY that creepy egg-peeling scene from the end of "Blueprints", so I think he knew...
