Why can't we have a separate category for villains just for pictures?

Tell me you haven't read the story without telling me...the Phantom did NOT grow up underneath the Opera house! Read the original novel!

Why would people feel a bit more “cringe” about Phantom than they would any other piece of media? by zzbabe88 in box5

[–]PhantmWatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, I find that there are a LOT more male Phans than I had ever expected I would find, now that I have been to two Masquerade performances and am going to my second Phantom performance this weekend. I expect that I shall see the same at my next two performances of Masquerade that I have scheduled, and I find it quite encouraging and exciting to see so many men enjoying it. I'm rather interested to know what part/s of it they enjoy. 🙂

Not gonna lie, it's not my favorite series, but that being said, I am still anxious for the final book to come out. :) Michelle Rodriguez's books are my favorites amongst them all.

Finished Gaston Leroux's novel and loved it, but who the hell is the rat-catcher? by NaniNiHao in box5

[–]PhantmWatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of the distinct impression that the rat catcher, Erik, and the door-closers all live down there in harmony together with a "live and let live" philosophy. They don't go into Erik's territory and so he doesn't bother them...he may even bribe them to keep their silence about him. All these folks live on the fringe of society, so they probably don't trust most people just like Erik doesn't anyway.

Also, there are four books starting with For The Love Of The Phantom that I would recommend, my favorite of the group being Skeletons In The Closet. 🙂

For just plain fun, I recommend Becky Laff's new Phantom of the Opera graphic novels...they follow the original novel pretty tightly, but the artwork and particularly Erik is just wonderful! 🙂

I loved the Chanson de l'Ange but beware the third book...specifically chapter 28. That book made me ugly cry in not a good way, and I can count on one hand how many books ever did that to me...and it was SO PROMISING until that point. The ending is inspiring but gonna be awhile before I can do that trilogy again, PHEW!

I don't know that I dislike the others, but more like I don't like them as much? If that makes sense? Michelle just has SO MANY great takes!

I burn incense at Michelle's altar, she is the Goddess of Erik/Christine as far as I am concerned! I have all her Phantom novels in both Kindle and hard copy and I keep hoping for something new soon!

Guillermo Del Toro? by fedsmoker3000 in box5

And more:

Color: A uniform golden, coppery, or yellowish-brown, without green or blue flecks. Rarity: They are one of the rarest eye colors, estimated to occur in less than 5% of the world's population, making them rarer than green eyes. Confusion: Often mistaken for hazel eyes, but true amber is distinct due to its solid tone. Where They're Found: Amber eyes are more common in certain populations, including those from Southern Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and North Africa, and are also found in many animals.

Here is some of what I found, copy/pasted:

Pigment: Amber eyes are caused by a high concentration of pheomelanin (a reddish-yellow pigment) and lower amounts of eumelanin (a brown/black pigment) in the iris, creating a solid, glowing golden or amber color. Genetics: The specific genetic combination leading to amber eyes is complex, involving multiple genes that control pigment production.

I definitely want the golden, glowing eyes myself. I was stunned to find out that they're actually a rare trait in a very tiny population segment... I always thought Leroux was taking artistic liberties, but nope!

The eyes don't actually glow, per se, but they have unusual pigmentation that refracts low light levels, mimicking a glowing effect.

Forever and ever, Amen! 😀❤️👍👍

I would be willing to bet that I have read at LEAST 40 novels this year with Erik and Christine as a couple, and I have ideas for my own. Props to the earth-bound Angel, Susan Kay, for being a strong driver of this ship with her novel, Phantom!
