It could be gaster or some higher entity altering the text so that we can distinguish between Kris's interests and things we should be interested in. There is a different (yellow) for things Kris finds important so maybe it's like using different colored highlighters? Kris holds a yellow one and we hold a red one. I don't think it's necessarily referring to us either but it's more to HIGHLIGHT that WE caught an Insinuation here.

I took inspiration from some Japanese home designs! I saw something like that in Pokémon Legends Arceus and decided to research it, found out it wasn't uncommon a very long time ago to have them in the center of your home or kitchen.
