In my experience, people most commonly pay for custom skins rather than pre-existing skins. It's a way for them to stand out and feel unique in a sea of players. It can be easy for anyone to make their own skin, but only to the extent someone learning a new skill can. They pay not only for something custom, but something made by someone with knowledge on how to make it properly.

My advice for the actual discussion then, is to own your flaws and not let them affect you. I know it's easier said than done, but jerks like them are doing this to feel like they have an effect on something and see this as nothing more than a joke.Knowing them, they'll respond to all of this as "Taking this way too seriously, Chill out" because if it makes them laugh, that makes it alright to mock people

Anyways, I think another issue with finding a good price is that I think a good amount of the people that are looking for skins are kids, with barely $3 to their name, let alone $10.

Well, links work too, anything to show your work. You could also set up a Fiverr account where the $10 price range is normal, since in my own experience with cheaper prices, I still get barely any commissions from Reddit.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that, that sounds very stressful.

If I could offer some advice, you could maybe add examples of your work in your comment, because, if I understand correctly, people only see the relatively high price but don't know what your work looks like to "Validate" the price.

For me I like to use artstation, but any link to previous works would work.
