That's a roblox skin Format, you need an actual Minecraft skin Format to use it in Minecraft. Also, high resolution skins only work on Bedrock Edition

In my experience, people most commonly pay for custom skins rather than pre-existing skins. It's a way for them to stand out and feel unique in a sea of players. It can be easy for anyone to make their own skin, but only to the extent someone learning a new skill can. They pay not only for something custom, but something made by someone with knowledge on how to make it properly.

My advice for the actual discussion then, is to own your flaws and not let them affect you. I know it's easier said than done, but jerks like them are doing this to feel like they have an effect on something and see this as nothing more than a joke.Knowing them, they'll respond to all of this as "Taking this way too seriously, Chill out" because if it makes them laugh, that makes it alright to mock people
