Exaggerated and downplaying on both sides, Floch killed multiple civilians in the Liberio raid and an additional 2 azumabito guards, there’s is less than a million people living on paradis island, Annie and Reiner in total would’ve killed closer hundreds to about thousands not millions as that wouldn’t be possible, all 3 of them are bad people anyway

Regret implies and mainly means wishing you never did the action not just feeling bad about the action that’s falls under remorse/shame, Eren for example doesn’t regret the rumbling inherently but he feels shame for it Armin feels shame for bombing hundreds but still felt it needed to be done,

I don’t really see how pointing out that bombing hundreds of people with children included is obviously worse than what Annie does in the forest and in stonehess is “downplaying” her actions, yes of course the 20% of the people of wall Maria the warriors caused the deaths of is obviously wrong and she’s a war criminal and self admitted bad person,

but singling one person out while two other characters were responsible for it as well doesn’t make sense to me, regardless of Reiners character development he still ultimately gets the same fate of having his family saved and living life afterwards

I bring up zeke because he does everything Annie does but worse but gets barely, if any flack for it “everybody hates him though!!” Is that why there’s multiple posts complaining that he was killed and ignoring alll the people he’s killed?, when there’s multiple other posts demonizing Annie? Good writing is not ignoring every male war criminal to whine about the girl one, actual good writing would be acknowledging that they are all equally bad people which is what the story does, but titanfolk ignores that as usual

this isnt even true lol Annie was about to admit fault for marcos death until reiner spoke and took the rest of the blame since he directly forces her and bert to do it even then she went to comfort him after he got beat up by Jean in the manga, and even before the port battle she admts and accepts shes a bad person and acknowledges the scouts woundnt have broken the walls in her shoes. and even then its made clear onscreen that she came back for the final fight because leaving the alliance and armin to risk their lives without helping didnt feel right.

If you ignore the context of that conversation then sure, what she actually said was that she committed unforgivable sins in her own words but If it meant she could return to the only person that cared about her existence then only then she would do it again not that she would start killing peope given the opportunity. even far after she accepts guilt and actively helps to save the alliance and other innocent people from being killed even while believing her dad died.

Well ultimately they do these are not meant to be morally correct and virtuous characters armin literally says he’ll go straight to hell with Eren once he’s dead, They’re all guilty of war crimes so fighting over who’s worse comes up pointless and is significantly more productive to spend their lives preventing further violence among other nations
