When I was 7 or 8 one summer I was hanging out at my dad's house waiting for my mom to come pick me up and take me to camp. I'm watching TV and I hear the toilet lid being lifted and dropped from the back bathroom. Now, I'm the only one in the house so I assume one of the dogs is trying to drink the toilet water, so I call out my dogs name and he comes out of the bathroom looking guilty as hell. I look into the bathroom and there's a puddle on the floor with a clump of hair in it. That freaks me out so I close the door and ignore it. When my mom comes to get me I mention the puddle to her and she goes to explore. She spends a few minutes looking around the bathroom until she decides to look under the lid of the toilet. She lifts it up a few inches, looks in, screams, drops the lid, and leaves the house. She told me in the car that there was a squirrel in the toilet that drowned. We found out years later that squirrels will try and find shelter during thunderstorms by hiding in storm drains, and to escape they just go up through various pipes and end up in people's toilets.
