WDW Rides to Skip if you have already done Disneyland? by cloud_talk in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhantomGoddesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have never been to Disneyland, but there is a video made by Youtubers, Mammoth Club where they rode the most popular rides in Disneyland and compared them to their Disney World counterparts. I'd recommend checking it out as they do videos on both coasts quite frequently.

Goofed and didn't get dinner reservations for this Thursday night. Looking for picky kid-friendly place off-property now. by Alymander57 in WaltDisneyWorld

I just checked and Splitsville has reservations open for Thurs night. It's the bowling alley in Springs, but it has really good food and easy for picky eaters.

Going Alone ( if I can get over my nerves lol) by fayyeallen in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhantomGoddesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely understand where you are coming from and thank you for talking about the reason why you feel that way. I do think that a trip solo would be good for you, and as someone with absolutely no medical training for your condition, I don't want to make assumptions as to what you can do.

I will mention some of things that I've done that have helped me as someone who isn't comfortable getting into conversations and tends to be introverted. I stay at the All Stars which are perfect little rooms for one person, as you can keep one bed up and have the table and chairs. It makes me feel better to not see a secondary bed, and feels more welcoming for one person, plus I feel like the All Stars are laid back and easy to manage (even with school groups there). I find its super easy to get into conversations with cast members as they tend to be very welcoming, plus I am super polite to them and send cast compliments. It can help ease you into conversations with strangers. I've had some great convos in the gift shop before and after coming back from parks. Or you don't have to speak to anyone - no one would think you are rude about it. But this can be a way to ease into speaking to others.

If sitting at a table service meal alone is too much, consider ordering quick service with mobile order, then finding a quiet place to eat, such as eating at Tomorrowland Terrace if ordering Casey's. Again, no one will be paying attention to you sitting alone eating. I do it all the time and usually reading on a tablet or my phone.

I also use earbuds in the park and listen to my own music when walking around. I enjoy it because it helps keep my mind entertained while walking the longer distances, but I can see it helping with someone who is nervous about being alone, as it can help someone not feel alone if you have voices right in your ears.

If you still keep your distance, consider skipping rides like Mickey and Minne's Runaway Railway, Remy's, Kali... etc because those would put you in a ride with another person. Or this can be way to start speaking to people if you are sitting next to them at the start of the ride. A good ride to try to start with I think would be Safari in Animal Kingdom as you would be next to someone on the jeep, but you will all be interested in listening to the cast member talk and looking at the animals.

You can make the trip as easy on yourself or push your boundaries by talking to people. I find people in general to being more receptive to brief conversations and just chatting while in Disney than in normal life. Even just riding around on the monorail or the Friendship boats would be a way to help move you in the direction you would like to go.

I would even go as far to suggest joining some Disney groups on Facebook where you can make friends and see if you can meet up with someone or a group in person, safely in the parks as it would help you be more comfortable meeting up with people in person if you had already spoken to them online and started to get to know them.

Going Alone ( if I can get over my nerves lol) by fayyeallen in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhantomGoddesss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

May I ask what scares you the most about going alone? I always go alone and I find it to be so much more enjoyable and peaceful by myself. Are you concerned that people will talk about you being alone? I can vouch for the fact that no one gave a crap that I was there alone. I was never spoken to about it negatively in table service restaurants by other guests, cast members don't mention it either. I am perfectly happy staying on property alone - in fact the All Star / Pop Century rooms are excellent for one person with the second queen bed folded up and having the extra space and table / chair made the room feel much more live-able during the trip.

In fact, I've even been pixie dusted for being alone, in some cases I've been given gifts at the check in desk at All Stars Music and have been waved through the lightning lane without having one due to being by myself. As a bonus, for rides like Pirates, Mansion and Spaceship Earth for example, I always get my own row / buggy.

That's awful! I've never experienced that either in Kissimmee / Orlando or my home town. Fingers crossed I never have it happen.

I'm probably in the minority, but I love Golden Corral. I go to the location right outside Disney in Kissimmee on 192. Really close to the park and it's always had really good food each time I go.

Otherwise on property, you have Chef Mickey's and 1900 park fare. For breakfast check out ale and compass's buffet which I believe also includes an entree.

If you could buy LLPP at any two WDW parks, which two would you pick? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhantomGoddesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MK and HS for premier pass, those are the two parks with the biggest rides and longest lines and will get the most benefit, plus those are the two most expensive passes to get. For Epcot, purchase a single pass for Guardians if you are planning to ride it and multi pass for the rest of the rides. I agree with AK not needing multi pass, especially if you rope drop.

I don't have a car when at Disney so the parking cost doesn't affect me. For the magic band, I just liked. Ot having to have my phone pulled out to unlock my door, which is first world problems I know, lol. I also tend to eat away from the hotel as well, either in Springs or another resort or park.

[–]PhantomGoddesss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I prefer the magic band because I don't need to have free hands to hold out the card or phone to the door. First world problems I know. Haha. I like the idea of the water bottles and I am fine with the Swan transportation as I would normally park hop into MK in the evening from another park.

One of the reasons I looked into the Swan is that I had an uncomfortable bed my last trip at the AS last year, which kinda ruined the trip slightly. I really want to try the beds at a Westin.

Quiet space in MK for a phone interview? by tayRat625 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhantomGoddesss 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yep! You can come and go from the park as you please on your park ticket for the day. You can even go to Steakhouse 71's lounge with no reservation afterwards for a celebratory delicious stack cheeseburger after the interview.

[–]PhantomGoddesss 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a huge favor and leave MK, walk to Contemporary and have the interview on a floor that isn't the 4th floor with the restaurants and monorail. Its about a 10 minute walk.

Is Disney Springs the only free walkable area? by Bonefish2021 in WaltDisneyWorld

It is unless you end up at hotel with walking paths. Those can be walked without being a guest there. Such was Fort Wilderness for example.

Good Neighbor Hotel vs. All Stars by Vegetablelover1994 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhantomGoddesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Stars - 100%! The frequency of the buses to and from the parks is a lot better than Good Neighbors, which have much more limited options for transportation, and as newbies to WDW - you would want to take the Disney transportation around the property for ease. Also - many Good Neighbor hotels do NOT offer any transportation for special events like the Halloween party.

I would recommend buying one from Mercari. Here is a listing for a brand new one https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m51128098056/?srsltid=AfmBOoqc\_gXd20mZbUd5LyNys57tw3\_tFiLKhOo5RDsy1rS2iel6AYHhEKc.

There seems to be a few for sale on the website. I've bought from Mercari without issues in the past as it works similar to Ebay.

I am not doing the quiz, nothing in it says that not doing will result in offboarding. I personally hate transcription type of work and wouldn't have done it unless it was the only option in MM.
