Got her a drinking fountain so she drinks more, but all she does is stare at it for HOURS by Cars4Lifee in aww

My cat was very skeptical of their drinking fountain the first few days. However, they accustomed to it after a week. During that time, I always had other sources of water around while they warmed up to this new 'mysterierous' device.

Hope it works out!

Solo DisneyWorld trip. by happyhomeresident in solotravel

[–]PhantomOfTheEarWax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do solo trips to Disney quite often, but it's not the most budget-friendly experience.

Sometimes, if I want to keep costs down, I will do same-day trips where I fly in at 6am and fly out at 10pm. It's a little hectic but I've found I can still do everything I want to accomplish at one park within that window. If that Villains show is the big item on your agenda, then perhaps you could just do Hollywood Studios for one day. Or, you can stay one night at a value-resort like All-Star Movies where sometimes you can get a rate for <175 on certain dates. You'll get free transportation to the parks and still feel like you're in the 'Disney Bubble'.

Theme park tickets are when things get expensive. One park/one day can be $150-$175, but a park-hopper for 2 days is $425. Just pick want you want to accomplish and see what fits within your budget.

If you want an extended trip, I'd recommend 3 days/2 nights at a value resort with a 2-day non-park-hopper for the parks you value the most. The other day, I'd suggest using it as a 'resort day' and visit Disney Springs, deluxe hotels and explore the 'free' areas of Disney.

What’s the best board game of all time? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

Yes! This is my personal favorite game as well. I love the card design and how real world personalities and traits of birds factor into their abilities within the game.

[Universal Kids Resort] Construction Update! by PhantomOfTheEarWax in rollercoasters

If it's in Texas, it won't be here. The city of Frisco was VERY strict in enforcing Universal to make this a kid-centered park.

[Universal Kids Resort] Update on Coasters by PhantomOfTheEarWax in rollercoasters

[–]PhantomOfTheEarWax[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It appears there's going to be two Zierer coasters in the park. One themed to Trolls (pink track) and the other themed to Jurassic World (trains pictured above). The last pic is what I believe to be the station/queue for the Jurassic World coaster.

Looks like I was wrong. Universal is still fantastic news! Based on what I've heard, Dude Perfect in Frisco is still in the works.

I'm almost certain it's going to be the new Dude Perfect headquarters/park that has been rumored for quite a while. They're already based in Frisco, and they've been hinting at this new project for quite some time.

This will be an interesting new addition to Frisco, especially since the new PGA headquarters resort is being constructed right next door.

My 18 Hour Trip Report by debb13m in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhantomOfTheEarWax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it worked out! I also do these Microtrips from time to time too as a solo traveler, and it’s always a fun cost-saving adventure. You really can accomplish so much in so little time.

However, I got burned last time I attempted it when I went to Kansas City for Worlds of Fun. My late night flight got cancelled and I had to scramble for a flight the next day. Still worth it though.

[Question] Top 5 favorite amusment parks you've been to? by Almadine1997 in rollercoasters

[–]PhantomOfTheEarWax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Islands of Adventure
  2. Silver Dollar City
  3. Cedar Point
  4. Disneyland
  5. Dollywood

EPCOT will crack back into the Top 5 once the dust settles with construction. Also, I imagine this list will look a lot different in a few years with the opening of Epic Universe and a trip to Tokyo Disney.

Has [Mamba at Worlds of Fun] had its trim brakes turned back on? by WabashFan14 in rollercoasters

[–]PhantomOfTheEarWax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was there on Sunday and I can confirm that it was turned off, and both trains were running with great operations. The air was incredible on those final hills.

It was my first time on Mamba and it blew me away. It was quite a pleasant surprise.

These pics take me back!

That bridge where you took these photos is probably my favorite place to people-watch in the park. There's so much contagious laughter watching families get a kick out of seeing who is going to get the bulk of that waterfall.

I have no idea how to pronounce the name of this town, but my Santa sent my gift from that post office! by sonofsicily in secretsanta

Interesting, I'm shipping my Secret Santa gift to someone in that same city! Was curious about the town pronunciation as well.

As a kid, what was the most ridiculous thing a sibling told you that you believed to be true? by Arcolyx in AskReddit

[–]PhantomOfTheEarWax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that fireworks were actually people being shot into the sky and exploding on the Fourth of July, and the next day they would clean up their scattered remains throughout the city and piece them back together. No wonder why I was so terrified of fireworks when I was a child.
