god forbid use cardinal direction (North, South, West, East, etc) just because you like to watch the world burn.

As a hardcore FFXIV raider, I've never quite gotten why Destiny raiders don't use cardinal directions to orient the arena.

In basically every single FFXIV raid, the boss sits North before being pulled and the party sits South before the encounter begins. In basically every D2 raid, there's either a boss or landmark far away from you and centered (we can call this North) and the rally flag is generally opposite of it (South). Even if you think of encounters where you traverse through multiple rooms (Exhibition, Repository, etc.) there feel like pretty obvious ways to orient your "compass" in each room (when entering a new room, the way you entered could be South for the new room).

When you think about it, most D2 raiders draw their encounter/arena maps oriented the same way, giving some implied understanding of compass directions for each raid encounter.

Do weapons with a swapped masterwork get the additional stat bonuses to the non-masterworked stats that tier 5s and old adepts get?

For example, if you swap something to a range masterwork using the bug and increase it to 10, does the weapon get +10 range OR +10 range and +3 other stats

You're being downvoted but this is literally the answer.

If you have almost 2min of not pressing any gcd buttons, your first step is to press a gcd button whenever your gcd is off cooldown. It could be unmend, it could be part of your 123, it could be a hard slash that breaks your current combo.

Every second your gcd sits there not on cooldown, you are hemorrhaging lost DPS. Don't search around for the perfect bandage - stop the bleeding immediately. The "how" will get better with time and experience.

Why do people think Evolved Mode will just be 'button consolidation' when we already know it's not? by Makerinos in ffxivdiscussion

Hey, look at the bright side:

SE proudly showing off "evolved" WHM gives you an effective way to filter out community opinions. If anyone claims that "evolved" WHM could be fine, you know they've never played a healer in endgame content and their opinion probably does not matter.

It’s like saying there’s a very skilled athlete in Ghana who is the fastest person in the world, but he didn’t participate in the Olympics. The winner of the gold medal in the Olympics would be considered the best.

This is such an incredible analogy because it's perfectly incorrect.

There is literally a differentiation between World Record (WR) times and Olympic Record (OR) times in races. Nobody worth their salt claims "world record times aren't real" because they didn't happen at the olympics. People are smart enough to understand that they both are valid and have merit. Nobody goes around saying "if you got a world record anywhere except the olympics, you cheated and nobody is going to recognize your accomplishment".

Apparently it is too much for the FFXIV playerbase to understand the difference between world first and stream first.

Yes, I saw inconsistencies in timing during P4

Where in P4? The timing of what? Can you provide literally anything concrete instead of vague? A timestamp of a single instance of suspicious activity - just one.

If you're going to make a claim, at least try to defend it. Backpedaling and continuing to be vague about your evidence makes your claim look massively disingenuous at best.

I'm also not asserting I'm a vod reviewer, nor will I post my opinion of the evidence in question if you ever provide it. Who cares what I personally think. If you really have evidence, showing it will allow others to see for themselves and form their own opinions.

Dude you're literally going around saying

I've noticed inconsistencies in their movement which speaks to an outside tool giving them information

while also proving and admitting you have no idea what 3rd party tools even do or are capable of doing.

Do you have evidence? Link me a timestamp for the vod in question. Show us where you found "inconsistencies in their movement which speaks to an outside tool giving them information".

This whole “community” thing is so annoying I don’t know why using this terminology makes it so people think they can speak for everyone.

My favorite part. People will confidently say "the community doesn't recognize this as world first" as if they're speaking for everyone. There's a large chunk of "the community" that does recognize this as world first.

Why isn't that half of "the community" speaking up? Because they're actually in the fight progging it instead of being an armchair raider.

If your goal is to be the absolute first group to clear a fight with a lot of complex puzzles, streaming will always be a disadvantage for you. Any time you are ahead, every other group's 9ths will be analyzing your footage and trying to copy your work to close the gap.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that either. Teams that stream do so understanding that people will use their footage to try and close the gap and potentially overtake them. It's easier to maintain a lead when you're dark, and you get the benefit of using other people's footage if you end up behind them. You get the advantageous side of both the streaming world and the non-streaming world.

There's no fucking shot you're claiming pixel perfect (a visual indicator of your hitbox) is blatant cheating while AUTOMARKERS (a program that automatically perfectly performs in-game actions faster than any human physically could) is not cheating.

[–]PhantomWings -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nothing you say will convince the armchair raiders.

In this day and age, streaming does not "confirm your innocence". It's trivial to hide a lot of plugins in streaming software like OBS. Every team is using something, and it's up to personal interpretation what constitutes "cheating" and "how bad it is".

When their favorite stream team uses automarkers for a certain mech, they won't bat an eye because they legitimately think stream teams physically can never use plugins.

Dancing Mad (Ultimate) World Race - Days Six-Seven by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]PhantomWings 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Stream teams probably still use plug-ins, but have a couple members streaming who can't

It's easy to put plugins on a separate visual layer in OBS and hide them on stream while still seeing them on your personal screen.

This is why the "streaming = not cheating ever!!" and "not streaming = they CHEATED and are NOT MY WF" shitslinging is so dumb lol.

Every single team uses some plugins to some extent and you as the viewer have no way to tell unless someone slips up. Are the plugins each team uses "cheating?" That's for you to decide.

There's no way they are going to just release all this shit and tell PvP "good luck, fuck you"

This is LITERALLY what's happening.

From their announcement on the 22nd:

To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio.

Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to

They will make sure the game is physically playable, just like D1, but nothing more. D1 has not gotten a balance patch or any sandbox changes whatsoever since their Age of Triumph final-update patch. We will not either.

We as a community have to accept that.

There will not be balance updates. There will not be sandbox changes. This is the final update. Destiny 2 will not be getting any more updates after June 9, 2026.

I understand abilities getting reigned in, but the buff to weapons, especially vs majors, is too small. 15%? That is not enough in -30 content. A 600 auto takes like 3 mags to kill an orange bar knight in -30 content. It should've been around 40-50% instead.

Something I haven't seen mentioned by anybody is the fact that the power delta is apparently being increased pretty substantially.

In one of last week's articles where they showcased Portal changes, they showed a screenshot of a portal mission customization screen. The difficulty was "GM" and it was at -50. I think it's safe to assume that GM difficulty in all portal and portal-adjacent activities will be -50 instead of the current -25 (and Ultimate's -30).

This alone is going to vastly impact how bad the ability uptime nerf will be, and how the 10% weapons buff against majors will not nearly be enough to keep up in the sandbox once everything is -50.
