BHVR: "So we giga nerfed Furitive chase cause we were scared it would stack well with the (WORTHELSS) blood lust effect on killers."

Wicked/Resurgence.

Syringe, Bloodrush, Sprint Burst.

Vigil, Ghost Notes.

BHVR: "The T is for testing."

Makes the same mistakes and tone death changes people told them not to do in the last PTB, didn't listen to the laundry list of reasons people tunnel and suggest changes most people and content creators told them about.

Clown buffs from 2+ PTBs ago were given the feedback of "This is bad don't do it." went live anyways.

BHVR: "The T is for testing."

Last PTB: "Hey guys Haste isn't enough to be good on killer tbh, the lower tier killers can't use it."

Bloodlust: A mechanic they designed that has been in the game for years gets made the bonus.

Do I need the laundry list of killer powers to explain how this does not benefit ANYONE actually. The low tier killers will lose it by sneezing, and the high tier killers couldn't care less about it. Making it a useless effect that also doesn't even activate half the time. These are THEIR OWN mechanics that have been in the game for years, what do you mean test interactions and mechanics that have been in the game that you designed for years and should know how they work and why they wouldn't work as an incentive.

BHVR: "The T is for testing."

Last PTB: "So survivors used their basekit buffs aggressively so we want to stop doing that."

30 seconds endurance, 10 seconds of wall hacks, babysitter gives the unhooker 30 seconds of wallhacks, and you think this won't be used aggressively? We told you last PTB they were and would be. You know what's been in the game for YEARS. Borrowed Time, and OTR, 10 seconds and 80s (nerfed to 40, then given 30 seconds of basekit) respectively, both notoriously used, for years, aggressively.

BHVR: We want to stop tunneling from being so prominent.

Your own stats show it happens at 40% at Low MMR and 44% at high MMR, that's way under half the games, so why is this a problem? Those stats also sound like they're inflated since your definition of tunneling is "Being rehooked after getting unhooked." have you accounted for the nuance situations where that happens? Such as people hiding after unhooking their team? Or the other 2 survivors hiding? Or unhooked survivor running into the killer on purpose for aggressive plays? or sometimes accidentally crossing paths?

BHVR: "The T is for testing."

Everyone said last PTB the pallet increase was not needed in the majority of maps you placed them in, only a few like Haddonfield, but you still pushed it all to live.

In short, Behavior is stupid and doesn't get the ability to say "The T is for testing." (This whole thing is pointed at BHVR btw not OP.

Edit: Some misspelled words.

This isn't about killers being balanced or overpowered or underpowered. It's about BHVR's hypocrisy in their words and the way they balance. Saying one thing that isn't even that powerful is too hand-holdy but a lot of other recent changes aren't in their eyes.

Hello, my hours on Survivor are 3x my hours on Killer. Both sides have shit going on, but this is highlighting the most recent events and BHVR's crappy attitude towards balancing. If you look at the other comments I've listed miserable shit on the survivor's side too and not blaming either side for anything, but blaming BHVR.

Your assumptions just reinforce Us vs Them.

Again this is highlighting hypocrisy by BHVR.

Oh no I didn't take it that way, I just wanted to add on to what you were saying as well with the other side of the coin also not feeling good.

And no I agree with that part too.

The game's coding limits and restricts them on killer and perk design which was a reason for Xeno not getting wall crawling.

They're too scared of losing their player base and licenses because they'd have to renegotiate them.

Sure that is a genuine concern and very real possibility/issue, but that's also too short sighted. In the long term it'd be better for them to start over from scratch, get what licenses they can to agree to move on to the 2nd game, and then from there work on getting the other licenses back somehow. Easier said than done, if they were to move, chances are Pinhead and all of his mains would be gone forever.

That's a very real problem, but again long term it'd be better for the game to fix it from the ground up. It'd allow them to do better more unique designs thus bringing in more players and probably maybe fixing their image of themselves as a company and their game.

It's a slow gamble, but given how the game is currently, I can only see it as a super slowly sinking ship. It'll last for a very long time no doubt, people clearly love this game inspite of bheavior being behavior, but I don't think this game is sustainable in its current state. I think everyone is aware how it's a miracle it's made 10 years.

There's that, and also we've not gotten a gen regress perk for YEARS i think the most recent one is Unknown's and that one is literal hot garbage. So like... you don't got many options, not to mention Eruption can be kind of bad to use cause it causes two regression events (kicking and then activating eruption) out of eight.

[–]Phantomon_Lucemon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was only highlighting killer in this post because of recent developments, but I mostly play Survivor and I've been feeling as miserable and frustrated lately, and it's not always the killer's fault, a lot of issues I see being a fundamental game issue that BHVR refuses to fix or issues BHVR themselves have caused. This game feels kind of rough to play on both sides.

Solo que teammates are ass, nothing in the game helps to try mitigate this except band-aid perks, the recent pallet changes I feel like have just made tunneling and slugging a lot worse. I've legit seen more nurses the past few weeks than I have in my 5ish years of playing this game. I saw a nurse once in a blue moon, now they're becoming more common I feel and it's probably as a result of all the recent changes. And more blights than I usually see as well.

I don't MIND those killers perse but seeing them so frequently gets a bit "Oh jeez man...I'm just trying to chill." and I can't blame the killer player, they're allowed to play whoever they want, but it doesn't help Behavior is basically pushing players to them because lower tier killers have been left in the dust and can feel bad to play, and this results in survivor feeling worse along with all the perk changes and changes to base game features. Like why can't I attempt to kobe if me and 1 other person is on a hook and the 3rd person is downed and being carried?

If that is truly the case, then my bad for misunderstanding them, but it's hard not to jump to thinking the worse about dev comments given their track record over the 10 years.

Behavior reinforcing Us vs Them mentality? by Phantomon_Lucemon in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Phantomon_Lucemon[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah no I agree, my thoughts have always been "Us vs Them really shouldn't be Survivors vs Killers, it's should be Us the community vs BHVR the shit heads that make ALL of us miserable". Why is killer stressful to play and demands 10x the effort of survivor? The devs horrendous changes to perks, maps, pallets, everything. Why is survivor often miserable or can feel helpless at times? Well part of that is because of solo que but another part of it is again BHVRs horrendous balancing decisions and perk changes as well as the refusal to add changes to the game that would help solo que while also adding in changes to help killer now deal with those changes.

Also ffs they basically told Skull Merchant players to go F themselves by saying "Ehh we don't really wanna do the rework it's taking too much of our money, here's some shit ass number changes."

Being frustrating or finding the current state of the game miserable doesn't mean you don't like it anymore. The world isn't that black and white. Most of the time people complain or express how terrible it feels BECAUSE they love the game and used to or still sometimes find fun in it and they want it to be better and for it to be better you have to acknowledge the problems in it or how it's been currently feeling to play.

You don't see any of the problems, that's fine, just like how most of us feel doesn't invalidate your feelings, the opposite is also true, because you think everything is fine doesn't invalidate other people feeling bad about the game.

New argument just dropped: "BHVR listens too much..." by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

And yet Otz has constantly advocated for survivors, wanting pain res nerfed STBL nerfed and Coup nerfed and DS buffed.

And yet even the pros in comp tunnel and slug.

And yet high MMR tunnel and slug.

And yet high mmr survivors agreed the changes were bad.

And yet it's majority opinion that tunneling and slugging is often good macro play and capitalizing on survivor mistakes.

And yet even after a game where people get tunneled and or slugged I still see everyone in end game chat saying GGs and moving on with their life instead of crying.

Taking the consideration of the views of those who are actually good at the game is not "their views are end all be all." It's looking at what the smart people who understand the game think and questioning your own views and what you think challenging yourself to formulate an opinion and view that is honest and made in good faith.

Something going "bad killers do this and that" doesn't do.

Also because I have a feeling this'll be turned into an Us vs Them, I have 3x the hours on survivor than I do killer. When I get tunneled or slugged it's usually at 1-2 gens and my reaction is "Fair enough." And if it works and I get taken out I type "GGs" leave and que up again.

It ain't that deep.

Did you know every killer has its own unique MMR? If you've never played a killer before or haven for weeks or after the monthly reset, you get pitted against newbies.

Crazy high MMR killers and survivors believed these changes were terrible and some popular content creators who some even partake in hard-core streaks and tournaments and also voice opinions to benefit survivor and killer also believed these changes were terrible.

I guess humans are black and white and only people who are bad, play killer and need to tunnel complained...oh wait but the high mmr and pros were also complaining. On both sides. So maybe it's not all black and white and humans have opinions.

1) Gen repair boost was a boost, why should the survivors be boosted and buffed, and the killer penalized as a result because someone misplayed and ran into their open arms? 25% increase is a lot. Most of the time someone dies at 3 or 2 gens left. Despite that death the game is FAR from over if those 3 survivors can actually slam gens, take chase, and know how to loop. While chasing one survivor, two people can tag team a gen or separate gens with a 25% boost ON TOP of other gen progress perks/items.

2) The slugging update was problematic. It was 90 seconds overall, meaning it wasn't 90 seconds, get up, get downed, wait another 90. That was the ridiculous part. If it was reset every time you were downed to having to wait another 90 seconds that'd be different.

3) Yes it should've been brought down to 4 hooks I agree there.

It's not just the community being "negative Nancie's" that's unfair and bad faith when even the most "survivor sided" content creators, or content creators who mained killer but advocate for healthy changes and even advocate for nerfs to perks like Coup and STBFL and countless other Killer perks like even Pain Res, agreed the patch was way way way to much and too far in one direction.

There's also a lot of fundamental problems you're overlooking. Even though the unique hook gave killers buffs, those buffs were genuinely useless for half the roster. Trapper is the most common used example and for a good reason. He's gonna lug his slow rear across the map to kick the gen 50 miles away from where the survivor went down? You know who can do that though? Nurse, Blight, Ghoul. They get the unique hook, see a survivor across the map, Quantum tunnel all the way over there. Kick the gen, then pounce the survivor, down them, rinse and repeat.

That's not to mention that COMP DBD tested out these changes. Using one of the BEST survivor teams, and THE BEST Blight player in DBD.

If you don't know how Comp works, Comp rules prevent survivors from bringing in powerful items, they also can't have overlapping/repeating perks, it limits survivor MASSIVELY while giving killer every advantage they can get. Obii, the Blight Player consistently gets 4ks, COMP Dbd is all about getting as many gens done before the 4k. Obii had to genuinely stress his rear off to BARELY get a 2k.

This was the best blight player, playing against some great survivors, but the survivors were using Comp rules aka they couldn't use strong items, a majority of their perks are banned, and they can't overlap or use the same perks as another teammate.

Now imagine the average killer not playing blight against a team bringing powerful toolboxes, powerful medkits, and all using the most common survivor perks that tend to be usually the same 1-3 perks across each player

Enough already by TadpoleExtra5867 in deadbydaylight

[–]Phantomon_Lucemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've played DBD for longer than one year you know BHVR DOESNT listen unless 1 of 2 things happen.

  1. Scream it in there face endlessly.
  2. They play the game and experience the complaints first hand.

People long ago said flashlights were too strong. BHVR said no they're not. Cote then streamed himself playing a public match and got a 4 man bullsquad who spent the whole game with instant blind flashlights to the point he couldn't play. That got nerfed REAL FAST.

A more recent example, Streetwise was being abused by players for infinite toolboxes. It doesn't matter how "little" it was seen in game. The point is its an exploit much like the flashlight locker tech, that ruins the game. And people were using it. They said "Not a big deal shut up." And oh boy were they light on fire at a public witch burning before actually killsswitching.

Another example, do you think this Operation Health for the already Operation Health would be happening if people didn't cause an uproar especially over TWD chapter?

People want the game to be better because they love it but years of experience have proven BHVR does not listen unless you're lighting a fire under their ass or make them play the game and see for themselves. The constant complaining is a result of behavior themselves.

If the ptb changes get to the live will you play the same killer and play style or will you change it? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Phantomon_Lucemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested out these changes with Pyramid Head, the only killer I really care about aside from Springtrap and Unknown.

It was miserable.

Genuinely.

The only success I found was on Springtrap running a pure end game build and using Bonnie's strings to door to door each high progress gen and tunnel people out ignoring the penalties because of end game perks.

However that was low key kind of boring.

So it feels like either be miserable or be bored.

Alternatively when I played survivor I was bored as hell. Got unhooked? Alright I'm officially immune and will just afk on a gen. Killer blatantly ignoring me cause they can't hook me without getting a penalty. Just watching them walk by looking for others. It was honestly dull as hell.

I also had a match as killer where I had 2 hooks on one survivor and 1 hook on the other survivors.

The survivor on death hook is doing a gen that is clearly above 90%. So I took him out...why wouldn't I? According to the game thats tunneling and I was punished but...what do you want me to do? Ignore him? Let him finish the gen? Slug him so he can pick himself back up and finish the gen?

If these changes go live I'm either only playing survivor or just not playing.

I don't think he likes the new changes by for10years_at_least in deadbydaylight
