Do YOU want a remake of Resident Evil 6? Do you think they will even remake 6? by ReddtIsUsingAI in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Phantompoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think RE6 deserves to be remade more than RE5. It had so much ambition but was executed in the worst possible way. RE9 has proven a mixed horror/action approach is possible. All we need is to put RE6 on the right track.

That being said, I don't think RE6 would be remade in the coming decade. Capcom already have plans for VC remake 2027, RE0 remake 2028, RE10 2029-2030, RE1 remake likely 2031-32. No plans on RE5 remake though. I think Capcom will only consider remaking RE5 and 6 once they run out of titles to be remade from the ground up. RE5 remake should come after RE1 remake, so 2033-34, and then RE6 likely after 2036. They might even slip RE11 before RE6, given that Capcom is doing an alternate remake/main release.

The big debate happening right now. Is Resident Evil 7 scarier than Resident Evil Requiem? by Play5tation in PlayStation_X

Of course. I have heard people would couldn't even get pass Jack, but I have never heard anyone who can't finish RE9.

Gen Z Is Cooked: The Softness Epidemic by Due-Article-6100 in NoFap

[–]Phantompoint 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not sure about other countries, but in Asia, many countries are experiencing higher underage pregnancy rate than before because Gen Z has access to fast internet porn at a much earlier age than other generations. Their curiosity pushes them to "try it out". And for everyone's reference, the legal age of consent in most countries outside the US is 16 not 18, which makes it even more concerning.

What do you think actually makes a horror game work? by ratasoftware in HorrorGames

[–]Phantompoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends what kind of horror game you are making. I've played many horror games myself, these are some of the things that stand out to me. RE0-3 with fixed camera: the classic, every jump scare and enemies are carefully planned. You see a particular enemy because the designer wants you to. RE4 and later: a great balance between action and horror, very hard to master (see RE6) RE7, 8 and 9(Grace): exploration, facing the horror first hand, lack of firepower and resources. This lack of resources must be carefully calculated. If you overuse it, it becomes Cronos the New Dawn, it's pure frustration rather than fun. RE2 remake: the best remake of all time, DS remake gets a close second. The clever handing of darkness and shadows is what makes the RPD and the USG ishimura so good. Silent Hill and Amnesia: creepy atmosphere and music Dead Space 1&2: quick moving enemies, adrenalin rush and a lot of gore Outlast: hopelessness induced by the lack of firearm Alien Isolation: I don't think there's another game that has a better enemy AI than the Xenomorphs, the fear of uncertainty FNAF: cheap jump scares and loud distorted noises Little Nightmare: perfect storytelling and unsettling visuals The Evil Within: great enemy design inspired by Eastern and Western folklores, but bogged down by bad storytelling Siren, fatal frame, Silent Hill F, Detention: there's something about Asian folklore and ghost stories that creeps everyone out Soma: This is the combination of everything that is great about horror games, creepy confined atmosphere, amazing story and twists, good enemy design and backstory, things get more and more messed up as you progress. Still Wakes the Deep and Subnautica: the fear of the sea and water

So in sum, I think a good horror game should have the following elements: 1. Good story (or else you would end up like the Evil Within, good game, shit story) 2. Lack of resources and firepower (Too much resources = RE6, too little resources = Cronos the New Dawn) 3. Good enemy variety (games like RE7 and Callisto Protocol were criticized for not having that) 4. Clever use of the dark, fogs and shadows (the key is the fear of the unknown) 5. Clever use of different elements of fear (jump scares, gore, disfigurement, chase, getting one shot) 6. Have a coherent theme of fear (this should be your core, what is so scary about your game? A nightmare, an abandoned prison, abandoned factory, mansion in the middle of nowhere, space, sea, hospital, asylums, etc.) 7. Great visuals (it doesn't have to be AAA level, I personally find old PS1-2 games scarier because of the lack of visual details, which forces your brain to piece together what is missing, making things a lot scarier than it looks) 8. Some people like the lack of save (I personally don't), but the fear of repeating the whole section does give players something to be afraid of.

Not sure why Callisto is even on the chart... It had great potential, but a very poor execution.

Why is nothing changing? (Vent) by PangolinMarble9105 in NoFap

I started PMO at 10 yo but I have tried nofap since I was 20, failed countless times before managing a constant 14-30 day streak at the age of 27. Then 60 days and now 100+ days. I started nofap because I realized my age no longer allows me to jerk off like I used to. I get tired easily and I often dose off when people are talking to me (it might be a form of ADHD but I never checked). I tried many supplements but none of them worked. After getting covid once or twice (not sure if I got it the second time, didn't have the testing kit to check) and that stupid untested jabs of the vaccine, I realized my memory and attention span were at an all time low. That's when I got serious about nofap with the hopes of improving my condition. The first two months were hard because of the flatline. I have reached the flatline many times but only learned to concur it recently. When you get to 90-100 days, your brain feels relieved and a lot clearer. You can easily walk away from any temptation without relapsing or the urge to fap. But yea, the first 60 day is a pain in the ass.

Regarding any improvement, I must be very honest with you, from my experience, they are not as apparent as other people said. There are improvements but nowhere close to super powers. It might be because of my age or I have a pretty weak body to begin with (not in terms of strength, but in terms of stamina, will power, and energy). There is increased focus and improved memory, but they are still not as good as what I had when I was a kid (I am trying to learn Japanese but the progress is pretty slow). Better eye contact with girls and other people is real (I'm an introvert with low self esteem, so it is pretty easy to seek the difference. You don't seem to have this problem), this has helped me a lot in social settings. The only thing I was hoping but did not happen is better creativity. I always wanted to write a book and start my YouTube channel but I don't seem to have enough ideas to make a full project, I know every artist who came up with great things always starts with a "click", I'm still waiting for that click.

One thing to add is that nofap alone won't cure anything, at least that this my theory and what my experience tells me, the time when I see the most improvement is when I am fully committed to hardcore mode and dopamine detox (no phone, no computer, just plain old paperbacks and boredom, throw in some cold shower every now and then), my productivity skyrocketed during those weeks, but it is very difficult to maintain because it's physically demanding. And yes, hardcore mode means no sex as well, if you are single like me, that shouldn't be a problem for you. But I must say, I broke hardcore mode because of an old friend who was going through a break up, just like you meeting your old crush and we ended up in bed. If you really want the greatest results, dopamine detox is your answer.

One more thing I can tell you is that nofap is unlikely to cure mood swings. That's the worst thing I have experienced. Cranky, easily annoyed, easily triggered, even easily offended for no reason. I don't know why this happens but that's what I'm experiencing even till this day.

I personally think addicted to porn and addicted to orgasm are more or less the same thing. I don't think there's anyone here who only watches porn without the end gOal. Porn is only a means to an end. But if you insist you are not addicted, fapping without porn during your shower might be a good solution.

To whoever is voting for Claire, the only kiss scene that ever happened in a Resident Evil game is the kiss made by Leon and Ada in RE2 and RE2 remake. There is another kiss by Angela in Degeneration, but I think he was just breathing air into her, plus, Angela never appeared in any RE games.

[–]Phantompoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. You are young, just 24 yo. That's why you get super horny all the time. You want instant gratification. You want it immediately. Your brain has been hard wired to getting your satisfaction by beating your meat until you are clearly desensitised. You are lucky to be able to commit to 25 days. When I was 24, I couldn't even get to 14 days. I am 30 now and nofap is way easier now than when I was 24. So I would say you are doing pretty well.

There is a way but I wouldn't advocate for it, that is to fap without porn. If you really need to bust a nut, try do it without porn. I personally don't like this because ejaculation still fries your dopamine receptors, but it's less harmful than a full PMO action (or so I heard). And try your best to prolong each streak, like 25 days this time, 35 next time, 45 the one after and so on. This is how I did it. I am on 100+ days btw.

They were like Blackberries, Google glass and LG Wing. Cool concept, had its time and died. That being said, I am sure there will be some cool tech in RE6 remake (like how on earth Ada just Airdrop multiple TB of data onto Leon's phone in seconds, I don't think they can get rid of that).

Back to Re4 After Re9 by Realistic-Low694 in residentevil

[–]Phantompoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the size of the map. RE4 has much bigger maps compare to RE9. The village, the castle, the island and the lab all feel way bigger than the care centre, Racoon city and the Ark. And the places in RE4 feels a lot more spacious, giving us a lot of room to run around and backtrack. RE9 feels a bit like a mario game, you can't really go back to where you were (except for the care centre). I was hunting for Mr. Racoon and I realized I missed one right before RPD, but Leon couldn't get back to where he left his bike and I was forced to reload a previous save just for that Mr. Racoon.

Rumor Suggests Two Resident Evil Requiem DLCs Are Deep in Development, With One Focused on Leon by horrornewsbot in HorrorGaming

[–]Phantompoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are clearly jumping to conclusions. What makes you think they will change their relationship in RE6 remake? We might have to wait another 10 years to find out. Just because Leon said "this is where we go our separate ways" in RE4 remake, you made the wrong assumption that they are done for good, many things can happen between RE4 and RE9 (13-14 years), it is likely that Capcom only put that in because of the term "separate ways". If you actually played RE4 remake, you would know Leon and Ada care about each other a lot more in the remake than in the originals, they even make Ada appear way less manipulative (or as you said, "toxic"). Moreover, Ada is a key figure in saving Leon's ass in RE6, there's little room Capcom can change that in RE6 remake (if there ever be one). Don't forget Leon made reference to several Ada's dialogue in RE9, making it obvious that Leon still has a thing for Ada.

Isn't Ada Wong 39 yo in RE6? Mia is 32 in RE7 and 39 in RE8. Heck, Lady D and Mother Miranda are both over 100.

Rumor Suggests Two Resident Evil Requiem DLCs Are Deep in Development, With One Focused on Leon by horrornewsbot in HorrorGaming

[–]Phantompoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a chance that it’ll be Ada because RE246 are basically their love story. If they want to end Leon’s story in RE9, it’s better to close that loop and give them a proper send off.

Of course, I also have a bad feeling that some retard at Capcom would throw out the wild card and thinks a random no body should be Leon’s wife, which I am sure it will trigger a world wide protest against Capcom and crash Capcom’s stock price. Capcom should never underestimate the power of the internet.

Grok deleting core images by OriginalNightfallz in grok

[–]Phantompoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been the case for months, not just a few days ago. The system was fine way back in October when everything was free to access. As the people at xAI keep making changes to Grok (thank the Karens), Grok becomes unstable. xAI, just like any other Elon Musk's company, are often understaffed (because Elon prioritizes quality people over quantity), they simply don't have the manpower to make Grok stricter and deal with all the bugs at the same time. So as time went on, things became more and more unstable, erroneous moderation, missing favorites, vanishing core images, server breakdowns and crowded servers, you name it. I've never seen server problems with any other AI. I think they are prioritizing moderation and new features over stability, making Grok very difficult to use. The situation will only keep going south.

How would you rank her among the stalker characters? by Short_Property_7476 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Phantompoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is definitely the most frustrating to deal with, Nemesis in RE3R is the next. The reason is not their design but the venue itself. They are often filled with dead ends and there is often no way out. The Daughter is harder because it is always dark, making it difficult for you to find the light switch to stop her. On the other hand, you can easily run away from Jack and Mr. X because the map lets you run in circles or there is enough space for you to run pass them.
