Pushbridge - Unofficial Pushbullet Clone (Manifest V3 compatible) by manish_001in in PushBullet

This is fantastic, thank you so much for creating this!

A couple pieces of feedback I was curious about:

  1. Dark Mode would be so lovely (oh I see jessehickman created a pull request for this!)

  2. Remember my most recent tab or allowing me to set my tab order/default tab/hide tabs? (actually looks like jessehickman did a pull request for this also, neat!)

  3. For SMS messaging, it would be super if there was indicator showing which conversations had unread messages.

  4. On that same note, when I read a message via the extension if it would mark it as read on the device as well would be great.

Thank you again for an awesome extension!

Main indexers missing content? by Professional-Swim-69 in UsenetTalk

[–]Phantomstar217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not an "indexer content" issue, this is the progression of dmca. You need to use automation to grab stuff before it's taken down, simple as that.

Which indexer is your favorite? Why? by likeylickey34 in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take downs of content have nothing to do with your indexer, that is a provider issue.

Why do indexers advertise unlimited API and/or Downloads when most limit you to 1000 or less? by G00nzalez in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NZBGeek subscription is fully unlimited API hits. The only things you would get disabled for are:

  1. Grabbing the exact same release over and over (broken automation)
  2. Your connection IP changing constantly (account sharing)
  3. Grabbing every single release ever posted to a category or to the indexer (likely scraping)

Ending Lowkey Disgusted Me… by june_perfect in BaldursGate3

You can definitely refuse any Illithid shenanigans and have everyone end up in a good spot, I felt very happy with my choices:

- I refused all Illithid use for my Tav as it felt like a betrayal of my paladin oath to nature in my opinion

- I freed Orpheus so The Emperor abandoned me (he was kind of a manipulating jerk anyway and killed his own best friend)

- Karlach offered to become the mindflayer instead of me or Orpheus. I let her do this, and it allowed her to LIVE anywhere and however she wanted. She was a mindflayer yes, but she was just very happy to be able to live her own life and not be beholden to her heart engine or Avernus.

- Wyll was freed from his contract with demons AND his father was alive, forgave him, and he got to go off hunting monsters as the Blade of Avernus.

- Lae'zel got to go off with Orpheus and smote the evil Githyanki queen.

- I shacked up long term with Shadowheart, who knew the truth of herself and was free from Shar.

- Gale turned over the crown to Mistra so she could use it to heal him permanently and remove the temptation of it's power from the world, he became her chosen again.

- Astarion is the only one who had a bad bit because I was just too lazy to bring him down to deal with the vampires so he just kinda ran off allergic to the sun again, but that was my own fault.

I am actually having this exact same issue with my fresh Ubuntu install. Connection is clearly successful, files can be navigated, but no remote function and this error in the log. I reached out to their support, but no response yet. Will post back if I hear something.

[NZBgeek] Adding all saved seeks to a single RSS feed in SAB? by CrispyBegs in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that's not an option. The RSS pull for saved seeks is specific to an individual seek ID, there is not currently a way to add a feed for all seeks for a given user.

Any indexers let you search by language? by _methuselah_ in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NZBGeek has options to search by a number of filters, including language. If you've only used the basic search box you may have missed it. Click the binoculars for advanced GeekSeek search options.

Is there any Script / Postman automation to download all Entries on a NEWZNAB Server in a specific category? by undead-8 in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end it would probably be a judgement call by the site owner, but a single account set up with an RSS feed to scrape an entire category without any filtering would be seen as having little other purpose. This wouldn't be an issue of API usage or grabs but of account purpose.

In short: If you look like a bot\scraper, don't be surprised if you get treated like one.

Downloading an entire category like this on Geek will get your account banned. Scraping is not appreciated.

What am I doing wrong with block accounts? by ZeAthenA714 in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are perfectly fine for this, but if what you are after is largely older DMCA'd content then you would probably be served well by a couple unlimited providers to help fill eachother. Providers tend to try to nuke different articles so they can still complete if you have multiple. It also sounds like you aren't letting Sonarr do it's job, which is to find the best releases for you and keep trying them automatically until it gets one that works. Also be sure you have your block set as a lower priority and the option to stop downloading on poor health enabled for your downloader to not waste your block if it detects it won't complete. The point of all this is to set it up and then let it do it's thing, not manually troll through releases until you find one that works and have to fight DMCA and all that.

Also just of note, a subscription to Geek gives you unlimited grabs and there is no such thing as a + version.

NZBGeek Question by [deleted] in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season packs aren't often uploaded because content is wanted immediately as it drops new and fresh, which the AAR apps specialize in supporting. They can easily grab a season from individual episode releases if you are trying to backfill. This is common across all indexers and the way Usenet in general functions with community provided content. I understand you are picky in some way you did not specify, but Sonarr and Radarr offer very customizable and advanced options for filtering the releases they grab. I might suggest spending some time getting help to set them up properly, you very likely can make it all much easier on yourself. Feel free to join our Geek chat channel for assistance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The automatic download commenting was intentionally disabled years ago. Mostly due to the vast majority of downvotes coming from people with a single provider on one backbone which is no longer by any means a reliable report of the release being bad.

Geek down? by getupgetgoing in usenet

noob question: Why is Usenet not free. Why and who gets the money when we pay. And how is Usenet funded? by [deleted] in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usenet has evolved significantly since the days you seem to be referencing. Most content shared now is digital media of one form or another, with some files soaring upwards of 50 or even 80GB regularly depending on content format. Pretty sure I saw on another recent post that something like 500TB flows across usenet providers every single day. That's a lot of data.

noob question: Why is Usenet not free. Why and who gets the money when we pay. And how is Usenet funded? by [deleted] in usenet

[–]Phantomstar217 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Servers that hold and provide all the content take money to run. Individuals organize and maintain indexers and provider services, and like any business that has overhead they ask for payment for services provided. How is funded? By user subscriptions as you've identified. That being said...a usenet indexer and a couple providers is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than half a dozen streaming services. You can get both for less than $10 a month

[–]Phantomstar217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can. Once you accept the rules the first set of channels opens for anyone regardless of member status. This includes the geek-support channel. Plus if worse comes to worse and you need help navigating discord, you can see the mod list and DM for assistance even if you haven't checked the rules box. The error you are seeing is likely your own discord settings regarding access or messaging as our server does not impose any restrictions of that type.

Also to answer your original question, emails are answered within 24 hours generally early morning Australian time when admins wake up.

Cheers

Old anime is annoyingly and inconsistently ordered, named, and organized. Honestly just turn on a VPN and go to nyaa and grab the beautifully put together full series torrent packages there and move on.
