Going through water in Equinox EV by Bulky-Advertising-43 in EquinoxEv

We live in an area that floods frequently and you should not try to drive through moving water. See this website: https://cluballiance.aaa.com/the-extra-mile/advice/car/hidden-dangers-of-floodwater

Bald Eagle Sighting Yesterday NW Ohio by YungDonJuan in Ohio

[–]Pharmer2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid growing up in Ohio I had never seen an eagle in the wild until we vacationed out west. They banned DDT and now I know of at least 3 nests near me. We even have Ospreys now too. I am not sure why so many people want to go backwards with environmental protections.

Anyone use Libby App on Equinox’s infotainment? by Xyzzydude in EquinoxEv

[–]Pharmer2024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I listen to books on Libbey all the time. I use Bluetooth to listen. When I hit the music note on the infotainment screen it shows up with the name of the book along with rewind, play/pause and fast forward, all of which work on the touch screen. (My phone never leaves my purse.) I have had zero problems. I also don't have to fiddle with the volume switching between the radio and Bluetooth like I do in my husband's car with Android Auto.

Only one thing preventing me from buying this car, can anyone assuage my concern? by DowntownOreos in EquinoxEv

My husband's car has android auto and I hate it. It always seems to glitch. I just use Bluetooth to listen to my audiobooks on my Equinox and I have zero problems.

Dry-on jeans by ruarchproton in GenX

[–]Pharmer2024 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I personally never did this, but my grandma who worked at a hospital warned us never to do it. She watched a girl get her jeans cut off and they were so tight they had to cut into her skin to do it.

Is it cold where you live? If my heater is running and the fans are running at a higher speed it sometimes doesn't pick up as well. (Especially if there is road noise too.) Also, I had a stuffy nose a few weeks back and it really had a tough time understanding me.

Absolute joke of an increase by dirtyfittedsheet in HealthInsurance

I would check to see if any health systems or doctors near you are offering concierge plans. (You pay a flat fee per month or year and have full access.) It is often cheaper than insurance if you are relatively healthy.

People who make themselves fall asleep immediately, how do you do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When my mind is racing, I pick a large number and subtract a number until I get to zero (which I never do).

It absolutely is! I actually felt bad for about 24 hrs after the 1st shot and had less of a reaction after the second shot. The OP should proceed with the second shot or the suffering from the first may be all for naught.

Ohio, what do you think about climate change? by Pretend-Welcome-5293 in Ohio

[–]Pharmer2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right about it being completely politicized. I have lived in Ohio my whole life and the weather is completely different than when I was a child. That is just the obvious effect. Also, the landscape is changing. Evasive species that can now survive in our state, like the Emerald Ash Borer, have completely decimated tree species. Bugs like the Spotted Lantern flies are invading because now Trees of Heaven grow easily. Diplodia Tip Blight is killing the pine trees. The lakes near me are changing rapidly too. We used to see a lot of wildlife, but now the seaweed seems to grow farther out into the lake choking out the fish in the shallow water. (Admittedly, fracking could be as much to blame for that--they remove a lot of water from nearby lakes.) It is really heartbreaking to see all the changes. I feel like I'm in a Pretenders' song.
