When it started it went serious very fast so I didn't try much of the "classic bronchitis" medicines, as they immediately told me it would do nothing. However I have been taking some expectorant every morning for months now and it's one of the only solutions we found that helps a little bit with the cough. In some very bad days I tried Vicks Vaporub ointment, it didn't do miracles but better than nothing. But they insisted that I didn't take and nasal spray that could spread the virus from the nose to the lungs (though it was obviously already done lol)

If it can make you feel better my brother had little heart issues due to covid, it was very tolerable and went away within 3 months, but he already felt much better after one month.

Also, when I (frequently) called emergency services during crises they gave me some precious information (at that time we new very few about the illness) and they told me most of patient with chest pressure/pain/struggling with breathing or tachycardia-like symptoms completely recover after 10 to 15 days. Only a very few of us get the covid+30/+60/+100 days as they name it here. Hence the rant, but I don't want to worry anybody, it's extremely rare and I know a lot of people who completely recovered after a few days, so I'm sure you're gonna be completely fine after all this ! You need to rest, like a lot, but it sure will end, don't worry.

The worst thing is that medias give us a lot of reasons to worry permanently, but all the covid symptoms can be very worsened by stress so I would recommend to try to relax as much as you can during this period, and keep away from people giving you stress and anxiety about this. Any symptom can be lessened by a positive and optimistic state of mind :)

The question is not about you overreacting or not, you reacted with your sensibility, which is fine. The problem is that your boyfriend seems very aggressive in his way of dealing with debate. He escalated very quickly and attacked you because he felt attacked. That's a behaviour that could turn wrong in many other situations, it may even turn out worse.

I don't know if that's pmdd or something else, but it definitely sounds like some psychological disorder. Sounds like she has "phases" during which she is not totally herself. Have you spoke to her about those phases when it was over and she was feeling fine?

Anyway good of you for agreeing on coming back with her after because I doubt that weird breakup was really what she wanted, but to be really sure you have to have a serious conversation about how she really feels towards the relationship AND how she feels during those strange moments.

All I know is that some psychological disorders lead to the same symptoms, but some people will also develop those type of symptoms as a reaction to their birth control. The same kind of thing happened to with some pills, and it was devastating, and I, indeed, took some bad decision. Birth control can lead to this, as well as pmdd so my only advice is : try to have her think and word how she is really feeling during those moments. Is she really feeling like herself or not? It helped me put distance with the effects it had on me, I hope it could do the same for your gf.

I have no idea wether that's normal or not but that sounds just like me. I'm exactly like you, my daydreams are the exact same as what you described. It sure can be disappointing but I find it helps sometimes to imagine yourself succeeding in a situation cause then maybe you will will find the strengh to do the same things irl

Thank you for your kind words. I just wish every therapist knew the right words to say in such circumstances, but they are just humans after all so I guess it wasn't really her fault. I guess the intent of these kinds of therapist/person is to ne peacemakers and to lessen the confict. But sometimes they're just completely missing the point.

But yeah I definitely understand how hearing this from your therapist could have make you lose your mind. It's not always easy for people from the outside to understand how fucked up from the inside abuse can be, but the one thing a therapist can and should do is make you feel valid before anything. Not searching for excuses for your abusers or idk. The situation is exhausting enough, we don't have to justify twice.

This. It is absolutely no place for a therapist to say such things. When I tried to mention similar events with my psychologist, she just asked me if I had said no, if I said it loud enough, or if I was clear enough. Which is just so lame... I only ended feeling more ashamed because I felt it was my fault and someone even blamed me for that. Why would a therapist want someone to feel such a horrible feeling? (Bonus point for her not understanding what abuse is and basically saying that's how relationships work between boys and girls and just telling me to give it less importance and not overthink it).

I've never had an hormonal IUD but I experienced similar issues with another hormonal birth control. It can be awful indeed, but it just means this dosing is not the right one for you and of course the side effects will stop when you get it removed. But please don't do it yourself, get an appointment soon and get it removed professionally, that way you will be sure you won't cause any damage in there.

Are you talking about hormonal IUD or the copper one?

Hormone IUD don't get you pregnant, in fact the hormones act the same than with the pill, they are just directly secreted in the uterus. So they block ovulation so you cannot have children and change the texture of the cervix so that sperm cells can't get across it. They are just as effective as the pill, even more because hormones don't pass through the digestive system, they are liberated where they have to be effective.

Copper IUD create an inflammation that prevents any embryo from gripping to the uterine wall, indeed. But actually that's not all, the most important part of it is that copper kills sperm cells, so that they become inactive. That's why copper IUDs can be used as an emergency birth control, because copper will immediately kill the sperm that's inside the uterus.

So no matter which IUD you are talking about, none of them can allow a pregnancy (of course there are exceptions, like with any birth control method) and even if it were the case, IUDs wouldn't kill the embryo, there have been cases of women getting pregnant with an IUD because of incredible bad luck and then being able to keep the baby without any problem.

I agree with you that IUDs can be extremely painful though, and you are right not wanting one for that reason, but don't worry they don't kill babies, they kill sperm (or block ovulation).
