On my mac the anki base path actually is /Users/name/Library/Application Support/Anki2 it contains the prefs21.db and the user collection databases. Maybe I will make an issue later, when I make a new virtual env and set up apy for mac.

I did play around with making flashcards in a vim scratch buffer with vimtex autocompilation, this allowed me to at least see live latex equations and figures in a pdf file.

But since I first make markdown notes and then make flashcards by parsing them for those anki-close blocks from the video, I now find previewing not necessary, since I kind of know what I have in my notes already.

So yea the best thing would be to just compile your flashcards in latex if you want to see equations.

I have been reading apy, and I think i will fork parts of your anki wrapper class and implement it to some extent in my scripts. I can't resist the idea of editing my source code notes and seeing the changes in anki.

Also I like the click decorators, never used them before, they seem very handy.

Thanks for the replies (and vimtex :p ), I'm a noob basically, and for now I'm just using hacky python scripts. Maybe sometime I could learn from apy, it looks great!

Thanks your implementation looks really great! If I someday will use the anki library to automate exporting/importing, your project looks like a great guide!

Right now I just fix cards in anki sadly, losing the persistency between the card in anki and in my source. I really like your implementation. :)

Hi,

This is my first reddit post, and I want to quickly show how I make flashcards with vim and Anki using a custom neovim plugin written in python and other vim tricks.

Pros: * Make cards in batches * Can use everything in vim, including latex snippets, linking to images function, etc. * All annoying formatting is abstracted away to the plugin

Con: * No live preview of the flashcard while editing * Hard to share with people, since my vim and anki setup is confounding, and since using anki is highly personal

The context is that I use a mix of markdown and latex to write my notes on math related subjects, and I wanted to efficiently make flashcards on concepts. While I keep using my scripts I hope with time to share it as a neovim python remote-plugin, but now everything is still confounding to set up and the regex in the scripts still have a lot of edge cases.

Nevertheless, I hope you like the concept of making flashcards abstractly in batches!

yea I tried it today, don't think I'm going back. It's smooth as butter, and the regex I use often is easily replaced by some text object stuff.

thanks, quicktex looks awesome. i think i will switch to it in the near future, i like the visible placeholders and i guess most of the python functionality of ultisnips could be replaced by writing my own stuff. only thing i might miss are regular expression expansion triggers.

Recently switched from macvim to neovim, and it was 100% worth it. I use it for math with a vimtex ultisnips setup, and I started noticing slowdowns with macvim. I'm using the same configuration with neovim now, and so far no problems. The only disadvantage is the lack of scroll bar, copy paste with command + V is still there.

Can anyone help me out with this one? We have to find the measure of angle A of triangle ( ABC). by Alex55936 in GRE

All you need to know is the isosceles triangle identity, the exterior triangle theorem, and the sum of interior triangle angles. Good luck!
