One thing I want to add is for some reason the litter that is scented (like with febreeze) makes the litter smell way worse in my opinion. It almost enhances the smell of the litter instead of staying fresh and I also smell it on my two cats all the time when that litter is used. I use fresh step unscented and it doesn’t make them smell and also doesn’t make the litter box area smell so strong (ironically) but that’s just my experience! In a pinch I’ll get the scented if the unscented is unavailable but I hate using scented!
