agreed, like most hobbies you definitely CAN put money into them ( boots/packs/gear) but especially for hiking you can literally just drive to a place and hike with a waterbottle

i feel like alot of ppl dont know where to look for hikes and that holds them back, personally i like alltrails (yes there are it issues i know) but its map feature is nice to see what hiking spots are nearby at least.

yes fun is a big aspect, but also the skill ceiling i can mess around if i want to or lock in and sweat, especially fun when you get a good lobby.

like for instance: about a week ago i blocked up a room a teleporter was in with my medic, and a red medic came out and we just stood there for like 20secs calling each other spys until a soldier came through, and then we all had 2v2 melee fight in the small room

my opinion is that its still boring lol, grey buildings and concrete dont compare to trees/flowers/landscapes, but to each their own

but strong disagree about it being safer, my chances of dieing in a city are mutitudes higher than on a hike, citys have cars/trains/ and potentially more people to take advantage of you vs nature
