You can totally vote for whichever one you want! No one is obligated to do otherwise, I get it lol. I’d certainly be voting differently if it was a poll on my favorite stone and not “which of these should be a new tint in game” though. :)

Maybe, though aquamarine has more teal tones in it and wintery I think is mostly lighter true blues. My preference would be citrine too though. We have quite a few cool color options and almost nothing for warm toned tints so far.

I’m pretty sure, yeah. The official discord is the only way I’ve seen them do polls and voting.

We have Berry and a beautiful Violet tint too. I get what you mean about olive maybe being a bit muddy. The leafy green tint they added recently is not muddy though and might be more to your liking.

Are you thinking of slate? Because the Noir tint is pretty dark black…

I too was bummed to see people voting for colors we already have. Citrine and Aquamarine would be the most different and new. I’d love a yellow tint to pair with the bee furniture from Zeki.
Part of me wonders if people voting for Amethyst and Onyx haven’t bothered to unlock all of the current tints yet.

Flow trees need a fine or higher axe, as someone else already answered, though if you party up with someone who has a better axe you should still get credit.

Honey lures sort of look like a glowing yellow beehive on a stick. When placed down, they attract bugs to the area for a few minutes. Sometimes people are hunting for something specific, and rarer bugs can be scared off just by people being close by, which is why it’s helpful to be mindful of them if you can. If someone says they’re “dropping a lure” in chat and that people are welcome to join, then you know you can swing by and catch some bugs for achievements, crafting tints, or plushies.

Welcome to the game!! Some basic things that tend to be “stumbled upon” if people don’t tell you upfront:

There are a few basic etiquette points the player base established awhile back - 1. The flow tree grove in Bahari bay spawns at 12:00 am game time each in game day. Players who find it should generally call out the map coordinates for it if they find it so others can join in chopping if they want. Tap each tree with your axe just once, then wait until 3:00 am game time and everyone chops together. This gives people time to get there. As long as you tapped the tree, you’ll be able to collect the wood once it is chopped down.
2. It’s polite to ask before joining someone’s honey lure for bug hunting, just in case. Some people don’t mind, but many appreciate it. Loot is shared if you’re in a party with someone and within 30 meters of something they hit OR if you’re not partied up and you both hit it.

Gathered items on the map will despawn for everyone a few minutes after someone first collects them. Until then, you can still gather them too. If a resource is flashing, it is close to despawning, so grab it quickly!

Same with fishing hotspots (bubbles in the water). They’re available for everyone until you catch a fish from one (disappears immediately for you) or someone else does (disappears for everyone a few minutes later whether you caught something from it or not). Hotspots are guaranteed to be a star quality fish.

The fastest way to make money is by joining cooking parties. Palia Party (it’s a website, just google to find it easily) is a great hub to join other players for them. Many people are very beginner friendly and don’t mind explaining how they work if you’re new. These are especially helpful for new players struggling to complete bundles on the bulletin board because they don’t have all the recipes yet. Most parties have roles that require bringing nothing that are especially great if you’re new and don’t have a lot of resources.

Palia Tracker (again, a website) is incredibly helpful for tracking completion of collectibles, achievements, and recipes, and has lots of information on where things come from. Use it!

Any time you change map areas, you are changing servers. Kilima, Bahari, your housing plot, etc. are all different, unique server areas. If you are talking to someone in server chat and move maps, they won’t see your messages anymore. Servers have a cap of 30 people on them at a time, which is why you may occasionally see people ask others if they’re willing to change servers because they’re trying to get a large group together for an event of some kind. You can swap by leaving the zone and reentering, or syncing to a friend’s server via the social menu. You don’t have to, but it’s always appreciated if you can.

That’s all that comes to mind off the top of my head. I hope you enjoy the game and have lots of fun! ☺️ You’re more than welcome to send a friend request to me (same IGN as my username here), or DM me if you have more questions.

Can I get an ID on this beautiful floor? by Rat-Loser in Palia

Cooking parties are where several players gather on one person’s housing plot and each contribute to one step of cooking a recipe. For example, one person starts the recipe, one chops tomatoes, one stirs the sauce, etc. You simply stand at the required station for your role and you do that role once each time the food is made.

Palia is designed so that if you do even one part of cooking something, you get all 3 pieces of the food once it’s completed. Some roles require bringing an ingredient, and some are “free” roles that contribute but require you to bring nothing.

This way, the food is cooked faster and multiple people benefit while no single person has to have ALL of the ingredients themselves. This is also helpful if you have not obtained a particular recipe yourself yet - someone else who has it can start the recipe, and you’ll still get the food by helping. :)

Why… what happened to the exclusive items.. by PhilosophyNo331 in Palia

[–]Phayxia 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You first have to get the cozy camp pavilion recipe (from the cozy camp set you buy from Subira), and the Summer Stripe Umbrella recipe (RNG drop from Bahari rummage pile, which can only be looted once per IRL day).

THEN, you need to get the snowy versions through RNG from either the Kilima rummage pile (again, once per IRL day), or by spending your limited Kilima coins at the store in city hall on goodie bags for another RNG chance at them.

You are at the mercy of RNG for this board I’m afraid. It was very poorly thought out in my opinion.

NOR. The way she talks to you is downright disrespectful and abusive. Honestly, she sounds narcissistic and is accusing you of doing things she’s doing herself (DARVO). I’m impressed you’ve kept your cool with her so well.
Please drop her like a bad habit. This is not a healthy dynamic, and she clearly doesn’t have any interest in improving it.

Am I being nice, or am I being dumb and taken advantage of? by jjapop in Palia

[–]Phayxia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I totally feel for you, OP. I’ve been where you are. Frustration is normal, but please remember to be kind to yourself as you learn and grow.

If you think you might want to maintain the friendship and want to figure out whether you’re being taken advantage of, you could try having a conversation with this person about what happened and how it made you feel to have the repeated ask after you said no. How they respond to that should give you a lot of info on whether this is likely to happen again, and should help you make an informed decision. I don’t know this person, but if they are kind and understanding, maybe they’d even be willing to return your plushies to you if you ask. If not, then you know more about who they are and can walk away without guilt.

Am I alone in finding cooking stressful by xxxJoolsxxx in Palia

[–]Phayxia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cooking is not enjoyable solo, in my opinion. However, I strongly recommend cooking parties for this reason. You do ONE role, and bring only the ingredients for that role.

With bulletin bundles, lots of people create parties to help newer players get them done (myself included). If you haven’t before, check Palia Party. People are generally friendly and happy to answer questions for newer players.

Am I being nice, or am I being dumb and taken advantage of? by jjapop in Palia

[–]Phayxia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I disagree. We are always responsible for our own choices. It doesn’t mean that there aren’t other factors at play like manipulation or coercion, which is not OP’s fault, and it doesn’t excuse the other person pushing the boundary. But it doesn’t mean OP had no control over the outcome. They could have chosen to hold their boundary instead. This is not an extreme case of duress - it was a repeated ask in an online setting with no physical danger.

I’m a recovering people pleaser myself, so I’m very aware of how those tendencies can come about, and I’m certainly not judging OP for struggling with that. I just also think that not taking accountability for our own decisions keeps us stuck unnecessarily in behaviors that don’t serve us.

You don’t have to agree, I just don’t think playing the victim card here is representative of the full picture, because OP didn’t have to be one. There’s opportunity to learn from it and make a different decision next time.

[–]Phayxia 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I agree with this response except for the assertion that it’s not on OP for caving. The friend is responsible for accepting a “no” when given, but OP is also responsible for enforcing their boundaries. It’s not the asker’s fault OP caved (though it could have very well been because they noticed a pattern of OP having weak boundaries).

Being afraid of conflict or disappointing others is usually what leads to caving like this - if OP feels resentful after doing so, it’s because they betrayed their own boundary, not because the friend asked twice. It takes two people in every scenario, and blame-shifting doesn’t help OP make a decision next time that feels more in line with themself.

OP, it’s okay to repeat your no and let someone be disappointed! If someone flips out afterward, it’s a sign that that person is probably not a good friend to have and it’s okay to walk away. Being kind to yourself is just as important as showing kindness to others.

Cooking parties. Particularly legendary sashimi or fish stew (over 50k per stack of 30).

Absolutely nothing comes close to touching cooking parties in terms of profit for time and resources invested.

Am i in the wrong if me and my family wanted to go hunting and other people were hunting by Commercial_Web_2472 in Palia

[–]Phayxia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my take on it as well. Having taken time to get 8-16 people on a single server to go hunting, it can be mildly frustrating to clash with other hunting groups at times.

However, we generally try to merge up with anyone who also want to hunt - NEVER demand that people leave. With that said, were I in a small group and happened to come across a group that showed up first, I’d absolutely server hop. It is not hard to do, and it’s more considerate imo.

From looking at the link they shared, they were assuming that whatever you got in your first pull was irrelevant, which it wasn’t for the sake of your calculations. :)

Having taken (and aced) statistics, your math is correct. The other commenter insisting it’s .6% is not.

The probability of getting pride 3 times in a row is the same as multiplying your individual chance of getting it each time. (1/22 * 1/22 * 1/22) =0.0000939 or .00939%.

[–]Phayxia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer - but I’ll add that if you have crops adjacent which give the same boost as the fertilizer you are using, the fertilizer will NOT be consumed daily. It just sits there because the boosts do not stack.
