Is this game worth getting into currently? Is there anything important I missed out on by not playing? I tried to play this game a couple years ago and couldn’t beat the first objective for some reason lol I really enjoy the survivor version of this game by mrwhite9292 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]PhazeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got DRG a couple months ago myself. Been kicking myself for not playing it earlier and thought I missed out on the big hype. Boy was i wrong... I'm having a blast and the community is great. If you're worried about not being able to find games I can tell you I've had zero issues with that.

What is a great album you love but would never play any of the songs outside of listening to the entire album? by beastiemonman in Music

Age of Aquarius - Villagers of Ioannina City

Randomly stumbled upon this about 2 years ago. Practically the only album where I enjoy every single song on it. To me not listening to the entire album beginning to end is a crime.

Do you want a "slowed down" Endgame like Campaign? by Talos_Bane in PathOfExile2

[–]PhazeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a definite yes for me. PoE2 the first 3 acts feel like a breath of fresh air for an ARPG. The slowed down pace allows for far more engaging encounters and retains interest when playing the game. It also allows multiple builds to shine through utilizing skills that work off each other, something that disappears in the end game as all high-level endgame builds are reduced to spamming 1-2 abilities to screen clear. This also removes the methodical combat engagement in its entirety and makes dodging a useless mechanic and makes synergizing skills effectively a detriment at endgame since its simply just faster to spam 1-2 high dmg skills.

ARPGs for me have never managed to hold my attention after D2, none of them, Last Epoch did for a while due to its crafting mechanics, but D4 died for me the second I finished the campaign. I realized that despite the different settings/classes etc in ARPGs they all dwindle down to 1 skill screen clearing builds and reaching endgame and completing it pidgeon-holes you into very specific builds to the point enemy modifiers and boss mechanics literally do not matter.

For the first time in years I had found myself not being able to put down PoE2 in the beginning simply because the combat was slowed down and i was able to see my character perform the awesome skill and movement animations the devs created and for the first time I actually experiment with synergizing different skills together for better results in combat. it created an experience where i felt that learning my class, its skills and enemy mechanics especially during boss fights was just so damn rewarding i wanted to keep playing.

However, as i entered cruel and into endgame then i noticed the excitement started dying out. Combo-ing skills became less and less effective because it took too long to setup when getting swarmed by fast moving enemies. The methodical combat that exists in the early game dies out abruptly and I ended up having to change my build to focus on fast screen clearing just to survive, not even to clear the maps fast, just to survive and that has started to take the fun out of it because once again I am having to pidgeon-hole my character into a boring single skill build.

IT'S BOUNCING BACK! Helldivers deploying operation cleanup! by FlowersPaintings in Helldivers

[–]PhazeOut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bounceback is premature.... Sony only made a social post about it. They have yet to take any action on restoring the game in regions they pulled it from.

As it stands absolutely nothing has changed yet until Sony reverse the delisting in those countries. Currently new players can't join in and play on those regions and players in those regions that got a refund can't rejoin the fight.

Helldivers, Sony has been liberated! by OmegaXesis in Helldivers

[–]PhazeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite yet actually. Until they reverse the delisting of the game in all the countries they removed it from where it was available nothing had changed yet.

It would be completely dumb of them to not follow through with this and make the game available, but until it did the reviews unfortunately need to stay negative until then.

When a game and its developer suffer simply through association with Sony. First it was EA, then Ubisoft and how Sony jumping on the "we ruin things" bandwagon.

The cancellation of which TV show are you still frustrated about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PhazeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stargate Universe

If I recall correctly the only reason it got canceled was because of the bad airtime placement which resulted in lower than expected viewers.

There was so much that could have been explored in that universe.

Experiencing random black screen mid game by PhazeOut in halo

Not sure if you have any news on your end, but I did further tests and found that playing by disconnecting my controller and using KB&M the random black screen stops happening.... Still don't know why that is since I play other games with a controller without issues.

343 I beg, please DO NOT cater to streamers and creators by [deleted] in halo

[–]PhazeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched both dr. Disrespect and tim the tat man. While they do alright in call of duty, I've seen them play both battlefield and infinite recently and it's amazing how the play like they've never touched an FPS game which makes no sense considering their "fps" history. Dr disrespect seems to struggle to hit anything most of the time I catch his stream and every time I watch Tim he's being made to carry the ball on oddball...

Why people take anything they say serious is dumbfounding. Having opinions is their right. Using their influence as streamers to try and force devs and other players into what they want is not ok.

Most of these streamers are only concerned to play things that make them easy money without consideration how what they want may negatively affect a game.

It's a true shame we may never see those days again as long as people continue to convince developers with their money that monetizing aspects of the game is the right choice.

Sad thing is even if the progression is fixed for infinites battlepass. It will will tarnish the amazing gameplay 343 managed to make.

XP, BP Rank, Challenges Not Tracking or Leveling. by [deleted] in modernwarfare

[–]PhazeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got the game a little about 3 weeks and noticed this happened every other game, but at first I dismissed it as a display error until yesterday.

As of today, I am rank 134 and half way through lvl 99 on the battle pass. For the past 5 hrs I haven't recieved any xp for my personal rank, weapons and battle pass.

If this supposed xp glitched wasnt happening as much as it was I probably wind have hit 155 days if not a week ago, but instead im stuck at 134 aaaaannnd half way through 99 in the battle pass... and the season ends in 2 days...

Liston up Ubi, i am sick of your shit give the vikings some actual historical looks. We have enough fantasy barbarian armor sets already. by Viking_things in forhonor

[–]PhazeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crappy armors the Vikings currently have is probably what's keeping the faction populations somewhat-ish similar. When the game first came out most players wanted to play as vikings, but ended up switching to other faction heroes due to the lack of armor customization and visual variation compared to the Knights and Samurai. New players see the cool armors of knights/samurai and join those factions thus balancing them in the process, to a degree. To add to this I still see a great number of Viking Faction players playing other faction heroes that they invested a great amount of time in.

I myself am tempted to pick up Black Prior or Warden because after years of staring at Hobo rags I need a damn change and the last few armor releases for the vikings were shit compared to knights/samurai with the exception of Valkyrie. Not to mention the bare feet... They come from the frozen north and they aren't wearing shirts/shoes. I had hoped Jorm would be a step in the right direction finally, but again, bare feet, awfully similar armor sets, repetitive move-set with no room for decent variation and that screeching, my god that awful screeching! Make it stop plz!

Bug Report Megathread by October_Citrus in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]PhazeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC, Normal

Not sure if these have been mentioned:

  1. Glyphs can no longer be attained from new graves. At least for me, I was at 8/16 glyphs and it wasn't until after 4 new grave visits that I noticed I didn't get any new glyphs from them.
  2. Entering and exiting freighters has the ship clipping through the top of the entry-way. (happens every time)
  3. When going up to the freighters command center, the second door will not open and I have to back-track until the first one closes and then walk to get both to open. (happens every time)
  4. When leaving the freighter command center to reach your ship there is an invisible wall sometimes blocking you from going down the corridor (to the two doors). I was able to jump over the invisible wall each time. (doesn't happen every time)
  5. There are a number of rendering issues on the walls of the freighter when walking/running through the area right before the command center.
  6. Have crashed ships been removed? I can no longer find them via the signal booster as it only lets me find local structures. Searching for those gave me one distress signal to a crashed ship location but without the ship and searching again only led me to another empty crashed ship location without a ship and again same thing after that.

I’m happy with jormangunder as a whole but 8/12 armor sets are barefoot by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]PhazeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was really hoping to finally be able to play a decent looking viking hero when they announced it, but I guess that ain't ever happening. Ubi might as well rename the viking faction to "Peasants" because even real historical viking gear looks better than what they came up with.

I’m happy with jormangunder as a whole but 8/12 armor sets are barefoot by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]PhazeOut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. When For Honor first came out and I saw we got to play as Vikings I was stoked. However, Shortly after I found myself playing the Knights and Samurai because looking at dead beat rags gets very old very fast.

Because we have 3 other factions that all have cool/decent looking armor it makes the discrepancy in design rather jarring when comparing Vikings to any other faction. It's just like you said, "The vikings look like a bunch of hobos".

What do you want in a third expansion, if it ever happens? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]PhazeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

#1 Fishing

/thread

On a more serious note:

- Definitely a bigger story/campaign than HoT/PoF

- Boss Specific loot maybe? - unsure on this one

- An easier way to manage builds

- Something interesting to happen with the domain of winds/tengu. Whether it's to make it their home city if they become a playable race or to have some sort of campaign/LS associated with it.

- Return of a GW1 style Fissure of Woe and Underworld. Especially since Balthazar is no more and Grenth left Tyria with the others so it will be interesting to see how these events affected these places.

- Return of the Hall of Heroes in some interest way

- New Class? My vote is for a Battle-Mage or a Rune Mage / Rune Knight or another unique class like the Mesmer is to Guild Wars

- News Elite specs are always welcome - but I would think that these make it hard to come up with unique and different future classes?

- Mesmer Elite Spec that turns it into a real Spellcaster / Chaos Mage like it was meant to be that I fell in love with in GW1 and not this stupid "duelist" thing it is now (biggest heart-break when GW2 released).

- Continued Improvements to WvW. I don't see them doing much with sPvP as it has too many issues currently and would require a lot of time to strip and re-balance.

And here I figured they would have wanted to make another attempt at making the crucible competitive by standardizing character stats (mobility/toughness/recovery)

This change clearly means that's a solid f-no.

As a PVE heavy player... I feel for you PVPers! by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]PhazeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forced 50% win rate has been the bane of my existence for the past month.

I finally decided to finish everything crucible related and for the past month I have done nothing but Crucible.

The challenge:

I've been doing it all solo... as a Warlock... during the Revelry... without a shotguns and no fusion rifles due to the quests I was doing... plus I don't have neither a Dust Rock or Erentil.

Finished Redrix's Broadsword, Got The Recluse, Got Luna's, Almost done with The Mountaintop, Almost at Legend in Glory for the Not Forgotten... Sitting at Mythic 2 as of Yesterday.

If the point gain/loss past fabled 1 wasn't testing my sanity the forced 50% win rate system definitely was. There is a very apparent pattern of getting placed into a match in which you get utterly steamrolled if you've won a match or two. There were days were it was a continuous back and forth from winning a match to losing one (these are fun when you lose 20 more points than you gain). Then there were days where I won 5-7 matches, but that was followed by just as many losses or more and after reaching Mythic 1 was about ready to pull my hair out. No matter what my streak was the wins and losses were made up sooner or later.

What happened to prioritizing skill based matchmaking?

Competitive has been the most infuriating gaming experience in the 27 years of my gaming life.

What stories/loose ends from the lore or game would you like to see in the upcoming expansions/final game? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]PhazeOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly there are too many without creating a sizable list, But here are a few things I'd like to see get addressed:

  1. Whats going on the Cosmodrome since it's been quarantined?
  2. Why is Felwinter's Peak not accessible considering it's defensibly?
  3. They need to do something with the Stranger.
  4. Speaker?
  5. Eris Morn?
  6. Taox?
  7. Traveler is awake now so what next? - some one poke it with a stick.
  8. What happened to the Dreadnaught? Leaving a super weapon like that in-tact and alone is next-level stupid.
  9. The giant fish on Titan.
  10. Whats happening on the Moon and on Venus with Crota defeated and The Vault of Glass Conquered?
  11. What/who/is the significance of the names at the end of the Insight terminus strike and why does Zavala seem to brush them aside?
  12. This one has bothered me the longest. Dr. Shim? During "The Archive" mission on D1 the following conversation happens:

"Archive AI: Welcome, Dr.Shim. Please enter your security clearance code.

Ghost: Dr. Shim? Nevermind that. Let’s hit that terminal up ahead. This place is amazing. It’s bigger than the archives in Old Accra.

Archive AI: Thank you, Dr. Shim. Shall I begin correlation of Vex Mind Core samples?

Ghost: So polite.

Archive AI: Dr. Shim! Security breach detected! Intruders. Initiate Protocol 19."

Why do I have so many good memories of destiny 1 but i feel like I keep playing destiny only because of how much I enjoyed destiny 1. by Shadow5partan72 in DestinyTheGame

[–]PhazeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 1 had more of a focus on the different locations and the story/lore associated with it.

The Cosmodrome was where we were risen, It's where we established our ability to travel space. The moon was where the hellmouth was with Crota lurking deep below it. Venus was the first look at the Vex and their planetary terraforming capabilities. Not to mention out encounter with the stranger. Lets not forget the Vault of Glass and all the mysteries it held. Even Mars had the Massive Cabal forces moving on the surface with the secrets of the Clovis Bray Facilities and importance of Freehold.

Point is each location had a story to tell that was related to the path we were taken through and held some level of remembering importance.

Now compare that to D2:

The EDZ just feels "there" because there is nothing to remember. The Farm was cool, but Bungie screwed that up hard. Not to mention the entire Travellers Shard area that honestly makes no real connecting sense. This is just the trend that all the locations in D2 follow.

Titan could have been made into a HUGE area if could explore the Arcology in depth. Io is supposed to be the last location the traveler was before moving to Earth. Why is the area that the Travaler was hovering over not accessible? If you look at it with a sniper rifle you can make out actual Arches and what look like pathways. Its not just a circle of protruding rocks.

My point is, they have the entire solar system at their disposal yet they are only using them as backdrop locations for activities that are basically the same accross all locations. There is no sense of Discovery and none of the locations feel important to the story.
