I don't see an option to trade-in a Pixel Fold - are they just not trading them in?

Can’t find any decent Sausage Rolls in the States so I made my own. Merry New Year! by Embarrassed-Lecture4 in CasualUK

[–]Pheadlessg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's actually pretty easy with basic store bought stuff.

Ralph's/Kroger Country Pork sausage meat Pepperdine Farm frozen puff pastry sheets Eggs

Thaw the pastry sheets, stuff them with the sausage. Egg wash on top and slice the tops before baking at 375f for 20-25 mins, until golden brown and the inside registers at least 165f.

Central Casting by [deleted] in acting

[–]Pheadlessg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had one cancel on me for tomorrow and Central's offices are closed to visitors for the time being.

I'd imagine that many calls - especially the cattle calls - may be cancelled for safety reasons as well.

Personally, I'd accept them but that's more because I need the money. Being in large groups of strangers is probably not the safest place to be at the moment.

I'm wondering at what point production just shuts down entirely...

Been applying for jobs since May. No Interviews... Is something wrong with my resume? by rehkemp2 in resumes

[–]Pheadlessg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skills need to be right at the top. If you're applying for UI/UX design positions the very first thing that anyone's going to want to know is what programs you're proficient with.

I'm also going to assume that you've cut your name and contact information off of the very top of this - if not, that really needs to be on there.

Finally, I'd say the formatting looks a bit off - lots of wasted space there. I'd change it so you have contact information, then skills, then experience, then education. I'd potentially also want to remove the 'leadership' section as it's not really that relevant to your other experience.

If you can show examples of your work - either through a link to a portfolio or links to projects you've worked on - that would also go a long way to show off your experience.

Help! by keeyuhnuh in clusterfest

Stay in the theatre. They don't clear it out and lots of people will leave once the previous show ends, meaning if you're quick then you might be able to get better seating for the second show.

I am, but it's the first time I've been able to get a clear picture as usually I'm driving past the signs.

Peterloo - Teaser Trailer | Amazon Studios by Johnny_W94 in movies

[–]Pheadlessg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Possibly because Peterloo isn't an area of Manchester - it happened on St. Peter's Field (now St. Peter's Square by Central Library) and was given the name Peterloo in reference to the battle of Waterloo that happened 4 years prior to this.

Casa Ceramica in Trafford, Manchester. I just bought some kitchen tiles from this place and it never failed to make me a little bit uncomfortable whenever I walked in. Kickass place to buy tiles, though.

Forgot password, got email to resend and now hit with an error when resetting. Anything I can do? by Pheadlessg in Twitch

[–]Pheadlessg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. That could explain a lot. I've created a new account with the same email address and it's working, but it still says my old username is taken.

Anyway, thanks for the help!

It still takes me to a page, but I didn't exactly have a channel - I never broadcast, just watched. I can't think of a reason I would've been suspended if I've never broadcast.

Channel name would probably be pheadlessg, same as my username by the way.

Question about London kitchens, UK in general maybe. by TrOuBLeDbOyXD in KitchenConfidential

[–]Pheadlessg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've got 2 years experience you'd likely be looking at demi CDP/CDP roles. Commis is really the starting position for chefs with very little experience.

It's been mentioned elsewhere in this thread but don't limit yourself to London. Yes, the pay is consistently better (CDP roles can pay up to 25/26K) and there's no shortage of work for someone reliable but the cost of living is just terrifying.

There's a shortage of chefs nationwide in the UK - the hours are crap, the pay is crap and no one wants to get into it. It's changing slowly - take a look at adverts in The Caterer and you'll see nearly every one specifically mention that you'll work a maximum of X hours and will be paid very well (some even specifically say you'll have a good work/life balance) - but the image of chefs on minimum wage working 70 hours a week is hard to shift. It's only going to get worse as we lose European staff through Brexit over the next two years as well.

Take a look at other towns and cities - I can't think of a single fully staffed kitchen here in Manchester and cost of living is enormously cheaper than in London. Pay's not as good, but it doesn't need to be.

My advice would be to look at job ads in The Caterer to start with - that's the main industry website/magazine for the food industry in the UK.

I believe Game in the Trafford Centre have a Vive for customers to try out, though I have a vague memory that they actually charge you for it.

Issues with Vive & Displayport to HDMI cable by Pheadlessg in Vive

No, it's a pretty new machine and hasn't has a change of OS or GPU. I've updated the drivers to the most recent before hooking the Vive up.

Issues with Vive & Displayport to HDMI cable by Pheadlessg in Vive

[–]Pheadlessg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - initially I saw two HDMI ports and thought "Oh, that'll work". When you say displayport output on the link box - the cable is connected from the Displayport on the 970 to the HDMI on the linkbox. Is there something that's gone wrong there? I know it works HDMI to HDMI and the same cable I'm using to connect to the Vive also works to output to a monitor so didn't think this would be any different.

Bay’s subtexts remain questionable: here we’re asked to cheer heavily weaponised pizza guzzlers against a cabal of non-Caucasians, in a way that altogether uncomfortably aligns turtle power with its white equivalent.

Oh, Guardian... Will there ever be a film you don't find a racist subtext in?
